We have a 'children's farm' to delight your family, there is also horse riding on site, a games room and a children's play area, we can arrange for you to play golf at a local course, can provide you with walking/cycling routes or why not go fishing at the premier fishing centre in Europe, Pescalis.

Our beautiful farm is situated in the Deux-Sèvres where we receive more than 2250 hours of sunshine per year and are also fortunate enough to be close to the border with the beautiful Vendée department and so inherit much of the rolling hills & spectacular countryside from there.
There is a large, fully fitted farmhouse kitchen & a spacious living room with a beautiful beamed ceiling. There is a computer with internet access & email, satellite TV, DVD player and XBox console (with games). The house sleeps 10. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, a triple bedroom & a bathroom with toilet, shower and washbasin. Downstairs, is a second triple bedroom and another shower room and a separate toilet.
The swimming pool and terrace area has been described as an 'oasis'. Set behind the house and enclosed on all four sides, the area receives full sunshine almost all day long yet you can relax and swim in complete privacy. The figure of eight shaped pool is 12m x 5.5m and has a 'roman end' with steps into the water. It is surrounded by nearly 200m2 of non-slip terrace with plenty of sun loungers and parasols. The water in the pool is heated by our autofed, wood-burning boiler which GUARANTEES you an optimum temperature regardless of the weather (unlike other pool heating systems e.g solar panels). There is also a covered barbecue area so you can eat outside as often as you like.
We have a large, floodlit games barn for your entertainment. There is table tennis, basket ball & darts. We also have a outdoor children's play area. Here you will find swings, a slide, a trampoline, swing ball & a badminton net. Your children will love our mini farm. We have a selection of animals who you are more than welcome to get to know during your stay. If you are interested in horse riding we have a small selection of well trained and well loved horses who would love to show you around the local countryside. Rides can be arranged to fit in with your holiday.

Local activities in and around Coulognes Sur L'Autize, Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
The area is perfect for walking, riding and cycling. The countryside is made up of rolling hills divided up into a patchwork quilt of sunflower and corn fields interspersed with fields containing cows and goats. The marais poitevin (or Green Venice) is a fascinating maze of rivers, dykes and tree-shaded canals which thread between meadows and fields. The best way to explore is by boat, either with or without a guide. Visit, also, the Poitou donkey park at Dampierre-sur-Boutonne and marvel at this special breed of dreadlocked donkey!
Futuroscope, in Poitiers, is a collection of simulated visual spectacles, ranging from a white knuckle ride to journeys of dicovery in 3D to a magic carpet to a ride in a Formula 1 car. Puy du Fou is a huge medieval theme park with fascinating displays during both the day and the night. Marvel at the beautiful birds of prey, gasp at the stunt riders and take a step back in time in the vast roman stadium.
The food of the region is simple and rustic, created from the wonderful local vegetables, fruits, dairy produce and fish. The markets of the region are colourful and extremely interesting, there is no better place to buy your provisions; lamb, beef or seafood, melons from Haut-Poitou or vegetables from the coast. There are 50 or so goat's cheeses or how about a torteau fromager, a delicate cake made from goat's cheese with a crispy blackened top. Those with a sweet tooth can buy some candied angelica in Niort or taste a multitude of flavoured honeys in Coulonges market.
The coast of the Poitou Charentes is known for its long stretches of fine sand and good weather. The famous coastal town of La Rochelle is located just an hour away. The old harbour and three medieval towers symbolise the port's rich history; there are lively quayside markets, trendy bars and excellent restaurants. The idyllic beaches of the Ile de Re are also within easy reach and the island is well worth a day's visit in its own right.
La Rochelle Aquarium
One of the best aquariums in Europe - only an hour away - great for all ages.
Fantastic medieval theme park - Marvel at the beautiful birds of prey, gasp at the stunt riders and take a step back in time in the vast roman stadium.
Famous all over Europe - Futuroscope is a collection of simulated visual spectacles, ranging from a white knuckle ride to journeys of dicovery in 3D to a magic carpet to a ride in a Formula 1 car.
Home of equestrianism in France and a beautiful city in its own right, Saumur is just over an hour away. You can take a guided tour around the stables or watch a performance by some of the most highly trained horses in the world.
"We had a fantastic Holiday with you and have told everyone about it (especially the fresh eggs!)All the children enjoyed themselves and my two have told everyone how much they liked the dogs. We too would like to come again as it was so relaxing and the children loved it so will be in touch when we all get together again and discuss things. Thanks and Best wishes to you all" - Louise
"Thanks for the return of the deposit, that was a lot quicker than we have normally had to wait. Thank you for a very enjoyable holiday, the faclities were excellent and we seemed to have brought the best weather with us. The whole holiday experience was really enjoyable and we couldn't have asked for nicer owners to stay next to. I hope all the animals are behaving themselves, and that you are all keeping well. Once again thank you for a very enjoyable time, Regards" - Tony
"Dear All, journey back was fine. Can't believe we left anything however, I knew the towel was somewhere, just couldn't find it! We'd like to come back next year anyway, so we can pick it up then. The children were especially sad to go. You couldn't have been more hospitable had you tried and the welcome meal was fantastic. Horse riding was superb and we will be in touch to check out riding schools in the future. Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. Love" - Chris (Been back twice more and are booked 2008)
