Local activities in and around Bracklesham Bay, South East
Bracklesham Bay village is 0.25 miles away and has a small selection of shops and restaurants typical of any English Seaside town - including fish and chips, ice creams & buckets and spades etc. Nearby East Wittering has a more extensive shopping including mini supermarkets.
Windsurfing and sailing is popular in the waters off Bracklesham Bay and The Witterings. The colourful sails racing at great speed over the water is a spectacle to watch. Walking on the sand at low tide for several miles in either direction is also popular and very enjoyable. The Bracklesham area is world renown for fossil hunting.
The main nearby town is Chichester which is a short distance away - about 10 minutes by car. The ancient Roman city is famous for the theatre, cathedral, art galleries, museums, restaurants, canal and shopping centre. It also offers offers bars, clubs, multi-screen cinema & a good rail link to London.
Chichester Harbour Education centre at Dell Quay organises an Introduction to Birdwatching, family fun activities for 5-12 years and group walks. At Itchenor you can get a boat trip around the Chichester harbour and again learn about the wealth of bird and wildlife that frequent the nature reserves in the area.
The area all around is known as the Manhood Peninsular and has many reserves for wildlife and AONB - Areas of Outstanding Nataural Beauty. There are many footpaths that criss cross the Peninsular and a good selection of pubs cooking homemade food on route.
Nearby Goodwood offers horseracing and the famous car racing circuit. Fontwell horse racecourse is also near by.
Portsmouth, the famous Naval town, is about 25 minutes away by car and provides discount designer outlets at Gunwharf Quays shopping centre. Climb the new Spinnaker Tower for panoramics views, tour the historic Naval dockyard, go aboard Nelson's flagship, the Victory, take the harbour tour to see what fleet warships are at anchor. A fantastic visit for 1, 2 or more days.

Rental Notes: Weekly lets are normally Friday to Friday, particularly in high season, in order to manage cleaning and the bed linen service. Entry is normally 3pm and departure no later than 11am.
