Thousand Acres is a lovely six bedrooms, four bathrooms manor house nestled in the Cotswold Hills. Its 9.3 acres include formal lawns, a croquet lawn, a Victorian walled garden, paddocks and woodland. The house itself has an indoor swimming pool, sauna and hot tub with gym equipment and a pool table whilst in the grounds there is the croquet lawn, tennis court, a children’s trampoline and swings .
Thousand Acres was once the home of Dame Joan Evans a respected author who described the house as “being compact, solid and with a good garden and wide views over all the vale of Severn to the hills of Wales”. It is a house designed for luxurious country living incorporating all modern facilities. It is perfect for family holidays, reunions or a special celebration break. The house has been extensively and lovingly restored retaining the period features. The kitchen is fitted to the very highest standards with custom units and marble worktops and large family area. There are four bedrooms on the main floor – two en-suite four poster bed rooms and two double rooms sharing a family bathroom. There are two further triple rooms on the top floor with a shared bathroom. All bedrooms have fluffy towels, bathrobes and bathrooms carry a range of toiletries.
The accommodation comprises: drawing room with working fireplace, formal dining room (table seats 12)with grand piano, Library with board games and extensive range of books, Large family kitchen with range cooker, dining table , breakfast bar, family area within the kitchen with plasma TV, sky and extensive range of DVDs.
Downstairs den with pool table and TV room with sky and play station 2, pantry with fridge and freezer, utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and wine fridge, boot room for those muddy wellies and coats, Indoor swimming pool area with hot tub, sauna, gym and shower facilities.
Outside there is a croquet lawn, large gas barbecue, terrace for relaxing or dining with heaters for autumn evenings, tennis court and children’s play area.
There is extensive parking.
The Manor house comfortably sleeps 12 + 2 people. A cot, highchair and put-up bed are available if required. Additional services such as catered dinner parties, hampers for outings, transport and babysitting can be arranged. A welcome hamper is provided for each visit with a selection of local farm shop produce and a selection of wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee and milk are provided for your arrival.

4 Double Bedrooms, 2 Family Bedrooms. There are four double bedrooms, two with en-suite and two with four poster beds and two triple rooms. There is a double sofa bed in the library, 2 zbeds are available for children and a cot.
Bathrooms:
4 Bathrooms, 1 Shower, 2 Separate WC's. One cloakroom is situated next to the library so provides facilities for when the double sofa bed is used.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The kitchen is hand built with granite worksurfaces. It has a large plasma screen tv in the seating/family area and the bose sound system that runs through the ground floor is controlle from here.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. There are some open fires and some gas flame effect fires. WIFI access is available without charge. In the pool suite there is a sauna, jacuzzi, gym equipment and shower plus large indoor pool.
Dining:
Seating for 10. The main dining room will seat 12 +2 as will the dining area in the through kitchen/living space.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games, Table Tennis, Tennis Court. The house has two sky boxes, a sound system throughout the ground floor, a pool table, downstairs tv area with playstation2 game console and board games in the library.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. Outside there is 9 acres of grounds, with a croquet lawn, tennis court, swings and trampoline. Pets are welcome. The gardens are enclosed and there are private electronic gates to access the property.

The property is ideal for large family celebrations or a traditional country house week-end. Caterers can be arranged for that special meal and everything is equipped to the highest standard.

The house is located on the outskirts of Wotton-under-edge and there are many attractions and facilities near by of which a few are listed below: Riding locally with a large number of bridal ways Woodland walks in National Trust areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty Golf at excellent local club by prior arrangement as guest of the owners.
Local pubs with excellent home cooked food and secluded locations Westonbirt Arboretum which has an extensive programme of concerts and activities Cheltenham, Bath and Bristol all within 40 minutes drive Cheltenham and Bath both have good regional theatres & various literary and music festival Bristol Hippodrome has a programme including the ballet, opera and West End shows Many local houses of interest: Highgrove; Sudeley Castle; Chavenage; Dyrham Park; Woodchester Manor to name but a few.
Polo during the season at both the Beaufort and Cirencester Clubs Fishing and watersports at Cotswold water park Badminton and Gatcombe horse trials Kemble station is 20 minutes with London being 1 hour and 15 mins away – picks ups can be arranged. Bristol airport is 28 miles with regional flights throughout UK & Ireland.
From Wotton under Edge by the monument take the B406 to Dursley and at the top of the hill as you come out of Wotton you need to look for a small signpost to Bradley Green on the left. Turn left down.
