This secluded location at the centre of a quiet farming area is ideal for exploring the unspoilt west and south coasts of Crete which are packed with quiet beaches, numerous archaeological sites from the Roman, Byzantine and Minoan times, and tiny chapels that are beautifully decorated with ancient frescoes. Despite its private and rural location, Villa Theo is only 15 minutes from the National Highway and the north coast which boasts a multitude of amenities, and 35 minutes from the amazing Venetian town of Chania.

The villa itself stands on land that has been in the owner’s family for generations. Fully renovated in 2006, Villa Theo now incorporates the “best of both worlds” combining traditional Cretan design and materials with modern comforts. Multi-coloured stone was brought in from the Akrotiri Peninsula for the villa itself, the surrounding walls, the flagstone tiled terraces, the gated archway at the end of the driveway, the fireplace, and the large barbeque.
Local cypress wood has been used for the open beamed ceilings in the lounge and bedrooms, and the wood kitchen cabinets and villa’s furniture has been built to match. The modern enhancements that make the villa incredibly comfortable include: white aluminium doors, windows and shutters, mosquito screens on all of the doors and windows, TV, DVD and CD players, a ceramic hob and built in oven, a large fridge/freezer, a microwave oven, a washing machine, a BBQ, and air conditioning units in the living room and bedrooms. The a/c units also double up as heaters, and there is a large natural stone and marble fireplace for the cooler nights early and late season. There is a good supply of firewood and solar powered hot water or a back-up immersion heater.
Villa Theo has been beautifully furnished throughout with high quality furnishings that cleverly enhance the pretty style of the villa. The living room and dining area have 2 comfortable dark brown leather couches and complimentary ornately carved rosewood tables and chairs. The bedroom furniture is made from a matching warm coloured wood with lovely contrasting front panels of wood that are stained blue/green. The unique bathrooms at Villa Theo are tiled from floor to ceiling and have incredibly stylish green glass basins.
Homely touches such as bowls of potpourri and scented candles complete the comfortable and welcoming feeling that is found at Villa Theo. Built all on one level, the villa is also ideal for the elderly or those who find steps difficult.

From the myriad blues of the clear, calm, ever changing Mediterranean seas, the clean white, sandy beaches, the white Lefka Ori mountains, with the longest gorge in Europe, lush silver-green olive and orange groves, the scent of wild thyme and majestic pine trees surrounding unspoilt villages, even the occasional donkey - Crete has it all.
The approximate drive time from Chania International Airport is 1 hour. From Heraklion, where it is possible to get cheaper flights, the transfer time is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes.
