"Relax in The Gîte" situated in the picturesque ancient village of Bonnay in southern Burgundy, near to Cluny, Cormatin, Taizé and the celebrated vineyards of the Maconnais, Beaujolais, and Côte Chalonaise.
A stone built cottage which has been entirely renovated but retains it's original features. Well furnished throughout and independant of the English speaking owners home next door in the barn.
Comprising of on the ground floor, an open plan sittingroom with woodburning stove,electric radiator,cd player. Fully equipped modern kitchen with gas hob, electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, iron. The bathroom has a shower, wc, sink & heated towel rail.
On the first floor are 2 bedrooms (1 with double bed and one with 2 single beds) both have high ceilings with original exposed oak beams electric radiators.
Outside the house is a large sunny balcony overlooking the garden, equipped with table and chairs, portable barbecue available.
There is a local shop and traditional bar within the village of Bonnay and various woodworkers workshops, also a Fine Art Gallery with paintings and large out door installations.
Other shopping services & markets are 3 kms away and the larger towns of Mâcon and Chalon are 30-45 minutes away. This area of Burgundy is rich in history and there are many châteaux and Romanesque churches, Cluny Abbey to visit.

1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Bedroom. Both bedrooms are spacious and light and airy and are fully furnished with wardrobe ,chest of drawers , mirrors ,bedside lamps, radiators.

1 Bathroom. Bathroom is on the ground floor with shower,wc,sink ,heated towel rail and mirrored bathroom cabinet.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Fridge, Washing Machine, Iron. Fully equipped modern kitchen with view over garden.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. Sheets and towels are provided and included in the price. Electricity & wood are not included in the rental price(meter installed, so you only pay for what you use).Nor the taxe de séjour .
Dining:
Seating for 4. Open plan dining/living room with wood burning stove. The dining table is big enough to seat 6. Comfortable furnishings and cd player. Pretty view overlooking village church & gardens.
Entertainment:
CD System. Books and tourist information in both french and english are available.
Outside:
Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. Good sized table and chairs situated on the large sunny balcony, portable BBQ , available . Walled garden with grass area, shrubs and flowers and vines.
Suitability:
Not Suitable For Wheelchairs, Suitable For Elderly, Sorry - No Pets Allowed, Sorry - No Smokers.
The gîte is not suitable for children under 10 years of age or an elderly person who may have difficulty with steepish stairs.
Local activities in and around Cluny, Burgundy
There are lots of vineyards, castles, and beautiful large country estates to visit near by. Wonderful churches, Cluny Abbey, Taizé and the famous equestrian breeding centre in Cluny.
Or for something a little different visit the Glasshouse glassblowing studio and gallery in Sivignon and many other craftspeople who live & work in the area.
There is a green route where you can walk or hire bicycles and cycle through the vineyards and countryside, stopping off at cafés or restaurants along the way. You can go horse riding and fishing and there are public swimming pools in the larger towns of Cluny and Mâcon. You have of course a great choice of restaurants and fresh market produce.
From Lyon take A6 motorway towards Villefranche/Paris, then exit 29 Charnay-les-mâcon,next exit Cluny, follow D980 to Salornay-sur-guye. Turn Right through village, then left on D84 signed to Bonnay.

Rental Notes: Saturday to Saturday. Arrival from 4pm. Departure 11am.
A deposit of 100 euro's is required against any possible damage to the property or it's contents which will be held and reimbersed to you after your holiday . This may be payable on your arrival or if you prefere it can be added to the total price of your rental.
My policy is that the property should be left in the clean and tidy condition that it is found.
All cleaning materials are supplied.
