This beautiful typcial Spanish Andalucian style rural house it situated in one of the oldest lanes of the village on Monachil. It is very typical where the families built another level to accomodate family. A spacious house, with 4 bedrooms, sleeping 11 persons.
The house is superbly located just 5 miles from the centre of Granada and 35 minutes to skiing @ the Sierra Nevada.
There are 4 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a smaller kitchen too, and a superb roof terrace, with fantastic views over Granada.
Granada airport is 20 minutes away. Malaga airport is 1.5 hours away. Skiing at Sierra Nevada is 35 minutes away. Supermarket - 2/3 minutes drive - difficult to walk as quite hilly. Restaurants/Bars within 5 minutes walk. Bus Stop for Granada - less than 5 minutes walk. Play park for small children - less than 5 minutes walk. Coast - Solobrena and Motril - 45 minutes drive.
Lower level - there is a family room with 3 single beds. There is also a lounging area on this level and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom.
Upper level - there is a large family bedroom with double bed and 2 single beds and small terrace. Two further futher twin bedrooms, one again with a small terrace. There is a further small kitchen, living area and bathroom with corner bath.
Top level - large roof terrace, table and 11 chairs in total, veiws of the Sierra Nevada mountains from one side and Granada from the other..
There is heating for the winter months.
If you are looking to stay in a typical Spanish village and enjoy the skiing during the day, and Spanish entertainment, bars and restaurants in the evening in Granada, this is the place for you.
ABOUT THE AREA
Monachil is made up of lots of little settlements within it. The above picture is the centre of the village, but there seems to be little clusters with a shops, restaurants and supermarkets. There are many restaurants, bars and shops all within 10 minutes walk. It is however very hilly here, so you cannot walk anywhere fast.
There is a bus that goes to Granada city every 1/2 hour during the week, and hourly at weekends. It costs 95 cents each way, and takes about 20 minutes as it goes through all the old villages on route. The bus stop is conveniently located 2 minutes walk from our apartment and takes you right into the centre of Granada.
You can also get a taxi, which costs approx 10 euros and takes around 5 minutes.
There is a new theme park opened with a 26 lane ten pin bowling alley, and games area, as well as American, Mexican, Turkish, Spanish, Pizza and Italian Restaurants. This is just 10 minutes drive from the apartments.
About 2/3 minutes drive from our apartment there is a very large supermarket, it is actually in the next village called Cajar. It has everything from fresh bread, fresh fish and meet, and even baby supplies.
