Restored farmhouse accommodation set in the heart of the rural Portugal countryside, Casinha Pedra is ideally situated for exploring the area and visiting some of Central Portugal's superb historical places; Coimbra, the university city, the World Heritage town of Tomar, picturesque Dornes and Penela with its medieval castle, also the Roman settlement of Conimbriga.
The water park at Castanheria de Pera is great for a family day out, also the river beach at Sao Simao is nearby with a barbecue area. and the public swimming pool in Alvaiazere is open in the summer and is just 4kms away.
The Atlantic ocean, although 75kms away, can be sighted from the Alvaiazere Serra on a clear day.
The Casinha itself has its own private access by means of external stone steps leading into this well adapted holiday home, which has been restored from an old farmhouse where many of the original features have been kept, including the original beams and window shutters.
It consists of a spacious sunny lounge kitchenette, which is well equipped and comfortable, enjoying views of the open countryside. Leading off the lounge is a shower room and a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes.
An optional second double bedroom is available.
