Bwthyn Meini (pronounced Buthin Mainy) is a delightful 2 bedroom semi-detached Snowdonian white stone cottage, which has been carefully converted from the former dairy and buttery of the historic Meinihirion farmstead.
Recently fully refurbished, this cosy fresh cottage nestles in the foothills of the Arenig mountain and is perfect for walkers and cyclists looking for quiet, elevated lanes to wander. The very warmest of Welsh welcomes awaits guests at Bwthyn Meini, with the friendly owners of the adjoining farmhouse as the only neighbours in sight.
Completely refurbished in 2006 the cottage has a small heated conservatory with upholstered comfortable pine and wicker furniture and table for breakfast and snacks. Entrance vestibule leading to kitchen with dining for 4 and to the cosy sitting room with colour TV/DVD, video and music centre. Electric radiant fire set in traditional fireplace. The kitchen includes an electric cooker with ceramic hob, cafetiere, toaster, microwave oven, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
Stairs from the sitting room to landing leading to the master bedroom with double bed, second bedroom with twin 2’6” beds. Travel cot and highchair available. Bathroom with over-bath hand held mixer shower, WC and wash hand basin. Full oil central heating, double glazing. Immersion heater.
Garden with furniture and barbecue. Floodlit parking for 2 cars. Lockable store for cycles etc. Sledges for loan. Panoramic views from every window and walks along the quietest of lanes from the door.
Guests staying at Bwthyn Meini are invited to use the children’s Play Area and field at Cyffdy.

Bwthyn Meini is a paradise for walkers and lovers of nature and wildlife. It is possible to walk for hours across footpaths and tracks from this pretty country hideaway with only the sound of birds and livestock for company. Badgers, foxes and squirrels are regular visitors to the garden. Expect to see sheep and lambs at the garden gate. Bird watchers will be delighted at the owls and buzzards which nest nearby.
Set in the lower slopes of the Arenig mountain, an energetic but rewarding walk to the summit will leave lasting memories of breathtaking views. It is possible to see the tip of Snowdon, the coast of Ireland and no less than 10 lakes from here! Beautiful, remote location, yet just minutes by car from the bustling market town of Bala.
