We offer a fully-equipped holiday home suitable for families, groups or independent travellers. We are situated at the edge of a traditional Asturian village, in the foothills of the Picos de Europa Mountains and close to many local beaches, activities and facilities.
Because of its location, both close to the coast and the mountains, La Rondita is ideal for either an active holiday or a relaxing break. Try canoeing, go surfing or take a walk in the great outdoors. Relax on the terrace, go on a train journey from the station in the village or take a break at the beach, building sandcastles and searching for dinosaur footprints. And don’t forget to stop and sample the local hearty cuisine at one of the many sidrerias (cider houses) – everyone stops for a long and sociable lunch.
La Rondita is located at the edge of our village, a tranquil and peaceful location. It has its own natural spring and surrounded by orchards and beautiful mountain scenery. The River Sella, famous for its canoeing, salmon and trout fishing, runs close by. The house is detached and has 3 bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people, plus a baby. It has been sympathetically restored by its English owners who live opposite, and is equipped to ensure your comfort. La Rondita has central heating.
DOWNSTAIRS : Spacious open plan living room with comfortable seating area, TV, DVD player (guests are advised that DVDs can be borrowed from us) portable stereo, books, games plus local maps and information.
Family bathroom (toilet, sink, bath with overhead shower).
Fully-fitted large kitchen-diner (oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, kettle, toaster, fridge-freezer, dining table and chairs).
UPSTAIRS : 1 double bedroom (big enough for a travel cot, if required).
1 twin bedroom (big enough for a 3rd single bed if required).
Separate WC and sink.
Outside of these 3 rooms is a separate bedroom area (double sofa bed, with own bedroom furniture).
Bed linen and bath towels are provided; please bring your own beach towels.
OUTSIDE : At the rear of the property is a private garden with BBQ. Here you will find a terrace with peaceful and beautiful views across the village and valley. You can walk to a local village (10 mins.) which has a restaurant and bar and the nearest town (Arriondas) is 5 kms drive away offering bars, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets, as well as activity centres, parks and picnic areas, a sports centre and an indoor swimming pool.
You can walk to beaches next to the River Sella (5 mins.) for swimming and sunbathing; you don´t even have to get in the car to go to the beach.

The bathroom, kitchen-diner and living room are downstairs and we can move the sofabed downstairs for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
Local activities in and around Arriondas, North West
The nearest river beach is a couple of minutes walk away and the nearest coastal beach is only a 20-minutes drive away.
Locally there are many activities on offer: Walking and hiking, canoeing, quad-biking, paint-balling, caving, surfing, mountain-biking, fishing (salmon and trout are locally available), horse-riding, bird-watching (kites, falcons , vultures and many other birds can be spotted locally).
If you fancy exploring either by car or train (there is a station in the village): neighbouring Cangas de Onis is a popular destination for visitors, with its weekly Farmers' Market, an outdoor pool and many cafes, shops and restaurants. It also has a beautiful Romanesque bridge that spans the Rio Sella. Close as well is Ribadasella, a pretty seaside town which also hosts a weekly Farmers' Market, and has its own beaches, with a lovely promenade walk. It is also home of the Tito de Bustillo Museum, where you can see 20,000-year-old cave paintings. Visit Llanes, a medieval fishing town is charming with its cobbled streets, beaches, popular seafront walk and many restaurants and shops.
Not far off is historic Covadonga, the “Lourdes” of Spain with its chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Covadonga and an almighty basilica built on a mountain side. Whilst there visit Lakes Enol and Ercina which are great for hiking and wildlife spotting. Walk in the Cares Gorge in the Picos de Europa National Park, visit the Dinosaur Museum in Colunga (this whole area is also called the Jurassic Coast with many beaches boasting ACTUAL dinosaur footprints) and the Cider Museum in Nava. Try the Funicular Railway at Bulnes or the cable car at Fuente De.
Gijon (45 mins' drive), a coastal city is a popular place to visit with beaches, shops, museums as well as a great children's park, the Cantabrian Botanic Gardens and a brand new aquarium. Oviedo, the regional capital (also 45 mins.), offers a cathedral, parks, shopping, entertainments and all of the facilities of a large city.
