If you are looking for a restful holiday, an active holiday or a combination of both, one of our apartments at Aquitaine Gites in France is for you.
We can be found in the Lot et Garonne department in the beautiful Aquitaine region of south west France.
There are three apartments set in an acre of landscaped gardens on the bank of the river Lot. Le Lot is one of two apartments on the ground floor. The apartment benefits from easy access.
We are situated just 5km from the town of Villeneuve sur Lot and close to places of interest like Pujols, Penne D'Agennais and Nerac.
The riverbank is fenced with access via a security gate for those who wish to fish for carp, black bass, tench, pike, perch and trout.
Next to the apartments and also accessed via a security gate is a 12m x 6m swimming pool which uses a chlorine free ultra violet (UV) treatment system.
The gardens consist of large lawned areas terraced to the fenced riverbank. Each of the terraces has its own decked area with most having views over the river and the occasional passing riverboat or rower. The top terrace includes the pool with sun loungers and a childrens shaded play area.
The lawn at the front of the house is bordered with newly planted fruit trees including apple and pear and there is a mature fig tree in one corner. The lawn is big enough to enjoy the on site activities such as badminton, table tennis, boules and mini tennis.
THE APARTMENT
Le Lot apartment itself consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, a separate toilet and an open plan kitchen/ dining/ lounge area.
One bedroom can be arranged as either a double or a twin. The larger bedroom can be arranged as a double, a twin or a childrens room with a single and a bunkbed sleeping a total of 3. Each bedroom has a wardbrobe, bedside cabinets with lamps and table with chair.
The bathroom has a bath with shower and a sink with light and shaving point.
The separate toilet consists of the toilet with a wash handbasin and light with shaver point.
The kitchen is newly fitted and includes an oven, hob, tall fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker.
The dining area has a table with seating for 4 (there are 2 additional chairs in the bedrooms to make 6).
The lounge area has a 3 seater and 2 seater sofa with two coffee tables and a standard lamp. There is a television with satellite TV (freeview and radio) and a DVD player.
The apartment also has WiFi internet access (subject to availability).

Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The newly fitted kitchen has a full range of equipment and utensils.
General:
House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. Electric wall heaters have been fitted for winter lets.
Dining:
Seating for 4. There are two extra chairs from the bedrooms available to take the seating up to 6 if required.
Entertainment:
Satellite TV, DVD, Radio, Board Games, Table Tennis. It may be possible to borrow the owner's Nintendo Wii
Outside:
Communal Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Garden Furniture. A section of garden is allocated for private use with access to the majority of the main gardens. Parking is allocated. Le Lot has its own decked area with BBQ and garden table with chairs.

The apartment, fenced pool area and decked areas are no smoking.
Local activities in and around Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Aquitaine/Dordogne
Activities within easy reach of Aquitaine Gites in France include the more relaxing fishing, horseriding, golf, hot air ballooning and evening markets with entertainment.
If you feel more energetic why not try canoeing, kayaking, hover boats, cycling, go-karting or the water theme park. If you don't suffer from vertigo try the tree top park with activities for children as young as three. We also have a local tenpin bowling alley with pool tables.
The more adventurous amongst you might like to try microlighting with flights available over the apartments.
Those interested in the local food and wine will not be disappointed. There are a number of local farms which run organised tours and tastings including honey, fruit, nut and goat farms. If the farm is not for you there are numerous markets to stroll around, almost one for every day of the week in peak season.
Our local vineyard is only 5 minutes away with a multi language signposted tour of the vineyard explaining what happens to the vines through the seasons.
There are also several towns and villages of interest in the area including Pujols with its vantage point on top of a hill overlooking the Lot valley. It has several excellent restaurants, shops and an art gallery.
Nerac, which is a little further afield, is worth a visit with Henry IV's chateaux and extensive public park with the river Baise running through it. Why not take a picnic and watch the riverboats pass by. Not far from here you can see where the river gets its other name 'the river of steps' with a long run of locks.
We are approximately 45 minutes from Bergerac airport and 90 minutes from both Toulouse and Bordeaux airports.
The journey from the northern ferry ports should take between 7 and 8 hours.

Rental Notes: Changeover day is Saturday. Arriving after 4pm and leaving by 10am.
A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance falling due 8 weeks prior to your arrival date.
A security deposit of £125 or €150 is required on arrival. It will be refunded to you within 7 days of your departure unless a deduction has to be made for damage to the property or contents. A deduction may also be made if exceptional cleaning is required to return the apartment to the high standard it was provided.
Bed linen, bath, hand and pool towels are provided. If you are staying for more than one week a change of linen and towels is provided for each further week of your stay (this does not apply for longer Winter lets).
Winter lets (November to March) will have an additional metered surcharge for electricity.
A welcome pack is provided.
Payment can be made in £ Stirling or € Euros.
