Originally a traditional fishing village, L'Estartit has grown in popularity with holiday makers over the years. As a resort, it offers a wide range of facilities and is well suited to couples of all ages as well as families. The seafront promenade leads to the old town and working harbour which is home to numerous leisure crafts, working fishing boats & pleasure boats which takes divers and tourists to the Medes Isles. Traditional tapas bars and cosmopolitan cafes make this the real heart of L'Estartit.
The Medes Isles are a group of small, protected isles situated a mile from the coast of L'Estartit. Regular glass bottom boat excursions go out to the Islands to view the abundance of fish and there are many diving schools to choose from should you fancy a go at scuba diving or snorkelling!
L'Estartit's magnificent golden sandy beach stretches 5 kms along the coast to Platja de Pals and is separated in the middle by the River Ter. The beach shelves gently into the sea making it an ideal choice for families and the size of the beach means even in high season it does not become over crowded!
The resort itself has a wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainments to suit all ages and tastes. For a more traditional Catalan feel, the church square down to the harbour offers a variety of bars & restaurants offering local cuisine and tapas.
A wide range of excursions are available to our clients from L'Estartit including: Girona, Barcelona, Figueres, Costa Brava towns, Port Aventura etc. Car hire is also widely available making L'Estartit an ideal base for visiting the Costa Brava and Catalunya.
Within easy driving distance of L'Estartit you will find 10 championship golf courses.
