A medieval journey awaits you at the Chateau de Neuval - offering the conviviality of a private mansion. The beautiful setting makes the Chateau de Neuval ideal for an unforgettable stay. It has taken more than 2 decades for the current owners to restore the Chateau de Neuval to its past glory. Ancient building methods involving traditional masonry, stone carving and crafted carpentry combined with carefully chosen materials were employed to rediscover the chateau’s medieval heritage & atmosphere.
The traditional tables, grand fireplaces, 4-poster beds and French style oak-beamed ceilings in every bedroom create a unique sense of grandeur. Surrounding the main courtyard of the Chateau de Neuval are trimmed boxes, lavender and well-trimmed yews to complement the spirit of the place. You will enjoy relaxing around the large heated pool which is fully mosaic tiled and elegantly concealed in a fenced park.
Ground floor: Large reception and dining room. Dining table that sits 12 people. Monumental fire place, transom stained glass windows and stone paving that create a unique Medieval atmosphere. The “gothic” bedroom with a large single four-poster bed and independent exit out in to the chateau courtyard. Large fully equipped kitchen with antique furniture, butcher’s block , large rustic table and a renowned “la Cornue" stove. Bathroom including WC, art-deco double basin with pedestal, shower stall and bath-tub. The window looks at over the rear garden. Cosy and comfortable salon. Laundry room with wash-tub, washing machine, dryer and separate WC. Slated flagstone corridor with entrance at each end to provide access to front and back garden. Spa area with Hammam (Turkish bath), sauna, wading pool and showers.
First floor: Beautiful 15th century oak wood spiral staircase leads to the bedrooms. The “Jodouin bedroom” with a large single canopy bed and a stunning view. Large master bedroom (50m2) with four-poster double bed, impressive fireplace & transom stained glass windows with views over the valley and on to the courtyard.
Art Deco bathroom with “lion feet bath tub”. WC and hand wash basin. Passing through the ancient drawbridge is the tower bedroom with large double bed. At the other end of the chateau a wooden staircase leads to a large recreational room also used as bedroom for 2 people or more with futons and a convertible double sofa. The rooms’ largest window faces the park surrounding the Pool. Satellite HD-TV with international Channels comes complete with DVD & VCR. Outside: 2ha of fully enclosed park. Large fenced swimming pool (13x6m) that is tiled, heated and well maintained. Teak reclining furniture, chaise-lounge and outdoor dining table. In the chateau courtyard is an outdoor terrace with dinning facilities. Teak furniture and a Weber BBQ.

Local activities in and around Tours, Loire/Centre
Regional information: Within 20km the region welcomes culture hungry visitors with history, bucolic landscapes, local festivals, tours of ancient sites, villages, chateaux and churches. A 45 minute drive will take you to the most important Loire Chateaux including Chenonceaux, Amboise, Blois ,Chambord and Chaumont to name just a few. All of these chateaux feature sound & light shows and a variety of festivals throughout the season. Another 45 minute drive will take you to the renowned historical cities of Tours, Blois and Le Mans. The TGV station is 25 minutes away and this will take you to Paris in only 42 minutes.
Local area info: Local towns in every direction around the chateau hold a market at least twice a week. These are very popular & stuffed with regional food products or rustic curiosities to take home. All the necessary facilities are within 2km of the chateau including a large supermarket and various other shops. A string of country restaurants offer very reasonably priced menus with regional specialties along with local wines and goat's cheese. You can also enjoy the famous potted meat - “les rillettes du Mans”. Local activities: Tennis, fishing, cycling, horse-riding and wine tasting.

Rental Notes: Security deposit: €3000. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
