The villa is a traditionally built stone detached property, with air conditioning and its own private "infinity edge" swimming pool and garden.
Completely independent, the villa assures you total privacy. A large panoramic terrace and shaded patio, with a barbecue and built-in pizza oven, offer ample ‘al fresco' dining space from which you will truly feel on top of the world.
Inside, completely renovated, newly furnished and equipped to a very high luxury standard in 2008, the villa provides and caters for the expectations of the discerning modern traveller, whether you are holidaying as a couple, family or with friends... and children are very much welcome too! The villa can accommodate up to 9 people + infants.

Terrace: Covered terrace and panoramic patio area with views of Mount Etna, Taormina, Castelmola and the Ionian Sea. Built-in barbecue and pizza oven. Ideal for 'al fresco' dining at all times of day and night!
Kitchen, Dining and Living Area: Fully fitted modern kitchen with integrated appliances. Open plan dining area and lounge with sofas, coffee table, open fireplace, satellite TV, DVD, Hi-Fi.
Bathrooms: Comprise a modern wet room with shower, washbasin, wc on the ground floor, and on the first floor a bath with shower, 2x washbasins, marble top, wc and bidet. The first floor bathroom has exposed authentic beams.
Bedrooms: All 3 double bedrooms have air conditioning and sea view. 2 of these rooms have split-level mezzanine with additional single bed accessed via ladders (not suitable for very young children). All bedrooms on the first floor have authentic beamed ceilings. There is access onto the panoramic balcony from 2 of the bedrooms with views of Mount Etna, Taormina, Castelmola and the Ionian Sea... perfect for the morning coffee!
Swimming Pool and Solarium: Swim and tan with Mount Etna in the background, relax in luxury! Large 8m x 4m private "infinity edge" style swimming pool (depth 1m to 1m80) with spacious south facing panoramic solarium. There are large steps for access into the pool which is illuminated at night - providing a fantastic backdrop for terrace evening meals or a night time swim! Sunloungers and parasols are provided, and there is an additional open outside shower by the pool.
Gardens: Terraced gardens at the back of the villa with vine, lemon, almond, olive and other fruit trees. Lawned areas. Private driveway and entrance gate. Parking for 4 cars.

Local activities in and around Taormina, Sicily
All within a stone's throw away from Villa Etna Mare, are the towns of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and the small village of Castelmola.
The power and romance of Mount Etna, at 3.329m (10,903ft) the tallest active volcano in Europe and undoubtedly the dominating feature of eastern Sicily, have attracted the attention of travellers, artists, poets and philosophers for centuries. Going to Sicily without seeing Etna would be absurd and the villa offers the best seats!
Sicily is surrounded by many islands all very different from one another. The closest group of islands to visit from the villa are the Aeolian Islands to the North and these are also the most sublime...
Sicily's stunning range of scenery combined with its Mediterranean climate make it the ideal walking, cycling and golfing destination... and in winter you can ski at the top of Mt Etna too! All these activities are within easy reach from the villa.
Sicily being a key passage way for migrating birds between Europe and Africa, for bird watching, you will be spoilt for choice as to where to point your binoculars - especially from the villa! Though for the best chance of glimpsing the most elusive species, you must come at the right times of year; October/November or March/April seem to be good times for bird watching...

Rental Notes: A security deposit of £500 to cover for any accidental damages to the property or its contents will be required.
Maid service - including final cleaning, bath and bed linen are provided free of charge.
All service charges, including gas, electricity, satellite TV, water and air conditioning/central heating included in the rental price.
All baby/toddler facilities provided free of charge.
Property arrival is between 16.00hrs and 20.00hrs - typically on Saturdays, though please ask should you require to check-in on a different day/time. Arrivals after 20.00hrs incur a €20 per hour surcharge payable locally in cash. Please depart by 10.00am to give time for the villa to be prepared for our next guests.
You will need a hire car to get to the villa and really a car is essential to make the most of any trip to Sicily.
The last 20 mins drive to the villa are up a sometimes steep, narrow and winding road.
