This quiet rural property is a perfect country retreat, accessed by a country road in good condition. The house is nestled within a wooded hillside of olive & almond groves, with panoramic views to the white village of Gaucin and the surrounding Bermeja mountains. Situated at 640m altitude, it benefits from cool evening breezes in summer. It is only 10 minutes from the lively working village. There are many restaurants & bars in town, an authentic flamenco taberna, and the gorgeous castle with a 360º view of the area.
Gaucin is ideal as a base from which to make excursions to the many sights of Andalucia. The Coast is 25 min. drive, Ronda is 25 mins, Gibraltar is 1 hr away, and Seville, Granada, Cordoba and Cádiz are within 2 hours. The area is a paradise for hikers with a profusion of marked trails, and for birdwatchers as it is in the migratory path with views to Africa. There are many festivals during the year, i.e., running of bulls at Easter.
The house is a recent renovation of an agricultural building. There are stone floors throughout, ample terraces, 2 wood-burning stoves with an unlimited supply of firewood, and lovely natural gardens.
