Our Picturesque Derbyshire cottage is situated in a rural village bordering both the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National park. Its central location makes it an ideal base to explore the surrounding attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Cable cars at the Heights of Abraham & Alton Towers.
It is only a 2 minute walk to the very popular local pub The Tiger Inn, which offers great homemade food all day, 7 days a week and Cask Marque Awarded Real Ales.
The house itself offers a very spacious living area with 4 Bedrooms / 5th Bedroom or additional lounge enabling maximum flexibility for families or groups.
It has a large Family Lounge with adjoining Study & Conservatory, leading onto the back of the house where there is a private patio area overlooking the views.
The Family Lounge consists of a Colour Widescreeen Digital TV, with DVD and a Music Centre with Radio, CD, Tape.
The Farmhouse Kitchen comprises a double electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge freezer, along with everything you may wish for in a well equipped kitchen. The adjoining utility room has a separate sink unit, dishwasher, automatic washing machine and tumble dryer, hoover, iron and ironing board.
There is a separate dining room seating 8 which again overlooks the valley views.
The first floor consists of a Master Bedroom with a double bed (z bed or cot available upon request) and dark antique pine furniture with a colour TV & settee;
Family Bedroom with a King Size bed & a single bed;
Twin Bedroom and a Single bedroom. On the ground floor the 2nd Lounge has a double settee bed, TV and Radio / CD.
The Family Bathroom has a Jacuzzi Bath / Shower unit, Sink Basin & WC. Separate downstairs shower room with WC - ideal as a wet room for coats/ boots etc. Upstairs WC.
Outdoors comprises ample parking (4 cars). Garage. Paved patio area to the rear (overlooking the views) with Summer House, Garden Furniture & BBQ.

Local activities in and around Ashbourne, Heart of England
With its central location Crooks Cottage is ideally located in the heart of Derbyshire to easily access all attractions. Visit the many stately homes such as Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, Hardwick and Haddon Hall. As well as the Potteries in Stoke on Trent there is Alton Towers less than 20 miles away and other theme parks such as Gullivers Kingdom and the Cable Cars taking you to The Heights of Abraham.
For the adventurous try climbing, caving, canoeing, helicopter and hot air ballon rides. Carsington water is within 4 miles which hosts cycling, nature walks, bird sanctuaries and of course many water sports such as sailing and windsurfing. The Tissington Trail & High Peak Trail both hire cycles and are great for taking in the Derbyshire scenery.
For a bit of history why not visit the tramway museum at Crich or the local Industrial heritage museums.
Of course, on the doorstep between the Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales there is no end to the countryside walks and trails to take in the breathtaking scenery Derbyshire and the surrounding counties have to offer.
