Le Hibou is a beautifully converted 19th century barn in the heart of rural France. It was completed in June 2007 and offers all the luxuries of modern living within the original features. It is surrounded by fields and is very peaceful. The accommodation is ideal for couples or families of 4 as the living space is open plan and flexible in terms of sleeping requirements. It is light, airy and tranquil.
Within the beams and exposed stone walls you will find a luxury living space to make your stay special. The main living area opens onto a terrace which is bathed in sun right through the afternoon and evening. The modern, fully fitted kitchen is overlooked by the mezzanine floor and has been designed to be light and open. The bathroom has a bath with power shower.
The second bedroom upstairs is a tranquil retreat and is perfect for children as it is quiet and ajoins the master mezzanine bedroom. There is another double bedroom downstairs. All the bedrooms have wardrobes and plenty of space.
The living area has a flat screen TV with satellite viewing so you dont have to miss your favourite programmes! There is a comfortable seating area and a woodburner for cooler evenings. Outside there is a private terrace and garden with BBQ, table and chairs and sun umbrella and it is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of local wine.
Le Hibou has been furnished and finished to a very high standard and wont disappointed. We have already had some guests return for a second visit and many have extended their stay.

The property is situated in the Loire Valley and is ideal for cyclists, walkers and river sports enthusiasts.
Canoes are available for rent along the Loire River and there are daily boat trips from Saumur. There is an 18 hole golf course less than 10 minutes away with several more accessible in under 30 minutes. The Loire Valley is dotted with some of France's most famous chateaux and gardens including Villandry and the fairy tale palace at Usse. There are theme parks and some of the best zoos in France to visit.
The beautiful and historic town of Saumur is just 40 Kms south and has great restaurants, cafes and shops. You can also visit the chateau and enjoy spectacular views of the Loire River and surrounding countryside.
For wine lovers, there are an abundance of vineyards to visit and sample the local produce. The cities of Angers and Tours are easy to get to and offer more great restaurants, cafes and shops. When the weather is very warm, local outdoor pools are open and there are several manmade beaches along the shores of lakes so you can cool off.
The Loire is a magical area because it offers something for everyone. It is steeped in history and the scenery is wonderful with fields of sunflowers and corn as far as the eye can see. It really is a lovely part of France and you will enjoy exploring it.
The property is a 30 minute drive from the A11 or 25 minutes off the A28 from Le Mans. Tours airport is 50 minutes south and Angers is 25 minutes west.
