This traditional harbour offers an easy mooring just a stones throw away from the cottage. Divers, Sailors and Fisherman’s dream.
The area is well used for windsurfing, diving, canoeing, fishing, sailing and kite surfing (Skerries) however visitors will sometimes need to bring their own equipment.
Loughshinny is located between Rush and Skerries. It is a small fishing village with a long history. The Drumanagh Cliffs are not only of geological significance but are also claimed to be the site of a Roman settlement. The hard rock of Loughshinny has provided a natural harbour for thousands of years before the Harbour itself was built in the last Century.

Penrose Cottage is a unique property over looking the beach at Loughshinney Co.Dublin. On entering Penrose Cottage one finds large open plan living accommodation with picture windows overlooking the beach and harbour. There is one step at the front door. Also on the ground floor are three double bedrooms one bathroom, one ensuite wet room, kitchen and utility room. The top floor comprises of a large living room with 360 degree views of the sea, beach, harbour and surrounding countryside. This leads to a large private decked area, ideal for use as an outdoor living space. The property comfortably sleeps seven with Master bedroom Kingsize bed with ensuite, the second bedroom , Second bedroom has one small double bed & a single bed and the third bedroom has a double bed. There is a bathroom just off same.
Should you have extra guests there is a futon bed in the living area.
Fantastic first floor deck area offering stunning views of the beach / Harbour / Sea, within 20 meters below. Direct access to the sea through gate. Located on the waterfront.

The Cottage has an uninterrupted view of Loughshinny beach and the Drumannagh Cliffs to the south. To the South East there is Lambay Island. The more east facing part of Penrose Cottage commands a magnificent view of the Harbour and Lambay Island in the Irish Sea beyond. However the second storey section of the cottage offers 180 degree views of the whole area.
Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Dryer, Stanley traditional cooker all standard. The house also has under floor heating throughout and stove upstairs has a real fire stove for cosy evenings.
There is a local pub just a pleasant walk from the house. Skerries, the local town, offers numerous restaurants (one Egon Ronay) pubs, shops, boutiques, supermarkets, and picturesque harbour.
