Local activities in and around Playa Blanca , Lanzarote
The marina is ideal for people who like to scuba, sail and enjoy life on the water. There are kayaks for the kids. If you like ten pin bowling there is a bowling alley and for the golfers there is a pitch and put course and crazy golf for the kids and bouncy castles. On Dorada beach there are banana boats and pedalos.
Being a small Island it should come as no surprise that some of the popular dishes to be found in Lanzarote is sea food. Parrot fish, snapper and tuna are the most common dishes. There are many different sea food restaurant around Lanzarote each offering something a little different from the next. El Golfo is said to have some of the nicest sea food restaurants on the Island and you should not go wrong if you visit the old harbour area in Puerto del Carmen either.
Catamaran sailing aboard Catlanza is an excursion that can be enjoyed by all the family. When sailing in the open water on the catamaran you will get a chance to swim, snorkel, ride on the back of a jet-ski and of course relax. Everything is included, this means your food and drink are all free for your trip on the Catamaran. There is also a chance of seeing dolphins and piolt whales.
Glass bottom catamaran with no less than 32 submarine windows for you to enjoy a view of life under water. The Blue Delfin can take around 250 passengers at any one time so you will always be able to get aboard with all your friends and family. This excursion leaves from the Harbour in the Old Town of Puerto Del Carmen and offers several different trips for you to choose from
Rancho Texas Park is an excursion that is fun for all the family, located in Puerto Del Carmen, this park offers a spectacular bird show, crocodiles and a parrot show. You will find a large selection of tropical birds and some very large lizards within the grounds. The latest addition to this park is the white tigers which is a must see.
Beaches
Beaches are all accessible on foot but the nearest is Dorada beach which is 1000m away. There is a nice waterfront walk from the Marina to Dorada which is suitable by buggy or wheelchair. The famous Papagayo beaches are best accessed by car but can be walked. There are 6 beaches and all are lovely yellow sand. If you are a naturist then this is where you might like to visit. There are a number of beaches, what we call 'locals beaches' which take a little more searching. Nearest 400m.
Places to visit
Lanzarote is relatively small and from Playa Blanca to the top of the island takes about an hour. There are great Markets and once you have done the Market in the Marina Rubicon then try Teguise Market. There is of course Fire Mountain and some great places of interest such as the Cesar Mariguee museum and cactus garden. There are great places to eat on the Island and you might like to try fish in El Golfo, Quamada or Famara all are great. If you like to surf then try Famara beach.
Lanzarote
Lanzarote is situated just 79 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.
Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C in January to 29°C in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5"). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.
As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian', so much so that parts of 'Planet of the Apes' were shot here.
The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions. Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over

The Aquapark is located in the tourist resort of Costa Teguise. This water park is home to many different slides and pools (including child slides/pool) making it a great family day out. There are many lifeguards on duty meaning you should feel safe leaving your children to adventure around on there own. There is a free bus you can get from all of the main tourist resorts leaving at set times and also returning at set times.

The villa is about 20 minutes from the airport. I can arrange transport for you (my dad does the pick ups). If you prefer a hire car I can send you directions from the villa, very straight forward.
