Traditional Spanish house in quiet residential street,with neighbours who have lived there for generations. the house is tiled on the inside and has very thick walls keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter. It has 4 terraces, 3 with magnificent views of the sea which is only a 5 minute walk, involving no roads that have any traffic..so it is safe for children. The floors downstairs are of marble, as is the staircase,and stay cool in summer. The cars that pas the house in a day could be counted on 2 hands. There are shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk, and the town centre is 3 minutes away.
Carboneras is a traditional Spanish fishing port with some of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches in Mediterranean Spain..although there is tourism it is not a tourist resort and is a genuinely Spanish town, where everybody knows everybody and is extremely friendly. Tapas are free with beer or wine and there are plenty of bars and restaurants. It is a friendly laid back family place which is very relaxing. Bread is delivered daily to the door and its easy to forget the streses of 21 st century life, though there are several iternet cafes, DVD rentals etc whern youy want to remember them again.

Local activities in and around Carboneras, Almeria
Carboneras is on the edge of the Cabo de Gata park. There are lots of unspoiled beaches and villages to visit and one can go to Granada to see the Alhambra in 2 hours. Mojacar is 20 minutes drive, and has all the amenities of any resort. Agua Amarga is only five miles west. Almeria is 40 minutes and has a fabulous Arab castle that would be famous if the Alhambra were nt so close.The beaches in Carboneras are far superior to Mojacar,both in size and the fact they are never crowded.
Airport signs A7 /E16 towards Murcia, exit at 494.marked Carboneras..at sea take road into town till no entry sign ahead LEFT, uphill, Stop sign,RIGHT,300 yds ,SLOW, at Urbanita right,house ahead.
