We specifically cater for families with children - the kids will love the large play-room which is stuffed with toys plus board games, dressing up clothes, train sets, building blocks, dolls house and a huge selection of children’s videos & DVD's as well as an extensive library of childres books,
For families traveling with young babies, we also supply within the price - a sterilizer, bottle warmer, food blender, a travel cot, changing mat, baby bath, high chair, push chair & children's crockery & cutlery.
The superbly appointed kitchen has been meticulously furnished & equipped with a large 5 burner range cooker, (always easier when cooking for large numbers) plus two dishwashers and a two large kitchen tables with seating for up to 14 people. We have everything you would expect to find in the kitchen including a washing machine, microwave and a huge stainless steel '700' wide fridge freezer - (very important!) lots of large serving dishes, crockery and cutlery so there will be no shortage when cooking a large family meal.
You will also find kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, dish clothes, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels & salt & pepper grinders at your disposal. A few less items to pack and always appreciated.
The airy sitting room has a projector TV which offers the full sky+ packages including: movies, children’s & sports all displayed on a huge motorised screen. Not to be missed is the Wii console with a selection of interactive games for the whole family to enjoy and have fun with.
Relax in one of the large leather sofas and enjoy the 'home cinema' experience or just relax with a glass of wine and a good book! (A huge library of excellent books supplied!!!) or plug in your iPod to the excellent Sony surround sound system and indulge just for a little while, listening to your favourite artist!
In the large TV/play room the little ones can relax in the comfortable sofas and watch one of the Disney classics (which are all supplied!) whilst you relaxing in the sitting room! They will also find train sets, dressing up clothes with princess slippers and shoes to keep them entertained as well as lots more toys & books.
La Mirabelle has five bedrooms - 2 masters, 1 twin/double and 1 triple bedroom with bunk beds and single bed and 1 quadruple bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. All bedrooms have been finished and decorated to a high standard and all beds have excellent comfortable mattresses.

Local activities in and around La Tranche Sur Mer, Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
In the village of St Benoist Sur Mer you have the wonderful restaurant/bar 'le lapin que fume' which serves lunch and evening meals throughout the summer months. Only a 5 minute stroll, it's also a great chance for the kids to practice their French each morning as it sells fresh baguettes.
La Mirabelle is under a 3 minute drive from the lovely village of Angles which has a large street market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings (in peak season) which is an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food including cheese, meat, fish and wine.
Located so close to the village of Angles you can visit in the evenings & have a choice of great restaurants. You will also find a comprehensive folder in the gîte listing restaurants, activities & local events, as well as plenty of ideas for entertaining the children. There is a huge write up of over 20 local restaurants that we recommend with the kids and if you want some 'adult time' we also supply the baby-sitting too!
In the summer months Angles organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays and night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.
Angles has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, five cafés/bars & four restaurants. Plus two supermarkets, butchers, fishmonger & fruit & veg shop.

Indian forest adventure
Marked trails in the forest up to 20ft high give you up to 122 different challenges. You are suspended by safety harnesses and are able to climb, swing, dismount and even slide across the forest. Great area for toddlers too, with themed bouncy castles, ball park, rock climbing, inflatable park, trampolines, swings, slides, ropes and pony rides to name but a few! Excellent day out for the children and for adults and only 5 minutes away, Great fun and highly recommended.

Puy du Fou is where time stands still - take a journey through 2,000 years of history. You will see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle, Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles and jousting knights plus a 1900 market town and a 18th Century Village. In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects. There are minstrels in the heart of the woods and master falconers in the meadows. This huge area covering 40 hectares will be an instant hit with children and adults alike.
The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer (10 minutes away) has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. The "Cercle Nautique Tranchais" (CNT) offers sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sand-sailing. The area is also superb for boating and surfing enthusiasts
The famous city of La Rochelle is just 45 minutes away. Explore the chic shops or watch the world go by from one of the many trendy bars or bistros. And after an exhausting morning's shopping, you can look forward to a leisurely lunch in one of the mouth-watering seafood restaurants which overlook the port.
You can enjoy two types of fishing - On the freshwater rives upstream from the lock gates at Moricq (5 mins away), you can try for pike, perch, carp, bream and other bleak. You will need a licence which can be purchased at our office du tourism.
Or you can fish in the saltwater reaches of the Lay, from the gates of Moricq to the mouth of the river which is subject to maritime regulations, so you can fish free of charge, for grey mullet, eels and plaice.
Golf
France is one of Europe's most popular golfing holiday destinations. It has over 25 of the Top 100 golf courses in Europe - and many golfers are now choosing to play in France rather than the traditional Spanish golf resorts. French golf courses are of an exceptionally high standard, are competitive and are well managed. We have 5 course within easy reach!
Rental Notes: Prices are based on up to 6 adults and 7 children sharing the property.
Prices are advertised in GBP, however, payments are taken in Euros on and exchange rate of 1.30%. The security deposit is also due at the time of booking.
Credit Card payments are accepted, a 2% surcharge applies with this method of payment. Alternatively payments can be made by international bank transfer.
Luxury 100% cotton bed linen is supplied within the price, as well as bath towels and bathroom hand towels. We also offer large 100% cotton beach towels for hire (saves that bit of extra room in the car on the way home for the great bottles of wine!)
Winter lets are welcome from Mid October through to Mid April each year at a price of 1300euros per month and are based on one family sharing. Bedding, electric, gas, water, personal taxes, sky packages or any fuel is not included within the price and is the responsibility of the tenant to pay.
