This delightful secluded hillside property provides a tranquil retreat from hectic city life. Whilst overlooking its Chateau namesake, the impressive Chateau de Cassenac, guests at Maison de Cassenac can enjoy fantastic views of the Dordogne valley and the surrounding forest. The Maison de Cassenac is available to rent on its own for smaller groups, but for larger parties the Chateau and Maison de Cassenac, in close proximity to la Ferme de Cassenac, can be hired as well.
The Maison de Cassenac was built in 16th century and has been fully renovated and kitted out with all mod cons. It has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large sitting room, leading onto a beautiful garden with its own 10x3 metre swimming pool. All three properties enjoy the luxury and privacy of their own gardens and private swimming pools. The ferme, maison and chateau can be hired independently or together for up to 38 guests.
The Maison de Cassenac lies within the grounds of the chateau, but is entirely self-contained with its own swimming pool and garden. The house comprises 3 bedrooms (double, twin & triple), 3 bathrooms with separate WC, a large sitting room, a fully equipped kitchen, a secluded garden, TV, DVD, CD, telephone, board games, a BBQ terrace and garden lounge suite. It is centrally heated for winter rentals. Pool cleaning, bed linen & end of stay cleaning is included. Outside is a 10x3m private swimming pool that can be lit at night, surrounded by sun loungers.
On the ground floor the fully equipped kitchen comes with American fridge and freezer, gas cooker, microwave, electric kettle, coffee pot, toaster, dishwasher and crockery for twelve. The living/dining room has a dining table with 6 chairs, a sofa, 3 armchairs, TV, DVD and home stereo system. There is also a twin bedroom with an additional single bed and a downstairs shower room.
On the first floor are the master double bedroom with en suite bathroom and another double bedroom with en suite shower room. There is also a separate WC and a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, cupboards, sink and table.
Outside is the private 10x3m swimming pool with views over the Dordogne valley. The pool can be lit at night and is surrounded by 6 deckchairs, a table and a parasol. The house is reached by a 600m driveway and sits in 2 hectares of private grounds. The dining terrace that can be reached from the living room has a table, 2 benches, 4 chairs, a BBQ and outdoor lighting.

The Maison de Cassenac is located only 45km from Bergerac (with Ryanair airport) and 150km from Bordeaux international airport. The nearest town for a supermarket, restaurants and shops is Buisson 5km away.
Day trips include guided visits by a renowned archaeologist of famous prehistoric sites such as Lascaux (30 km) and Les Eyzies. Visits to the medieval fortress town of Sarlat, forts and local communities. Local gardens, village markets and night-time produce markets.
Other activities available locally are canoeing, golfing, gliding, rambling, hot-air balloon and helicopter rides, local music and theatre festivals. Wine appreciation and tasting in Bergerac and Bordeaux. Other local towns of interest include Carcassonne, Rocamadour and Le Bassin d’Arcachon - all just a short drive away.
Périgueux (56 km): The Dordogne’s capital and relative of the local 'Perigord', the town has thirty nine buildings and monuments of historical interest. Vesunna, the Gallo-Roman museum, is certainly worth a look. As you wander along the lanes of Perigueux, built during the medieval-Renaissance era, you become humbled by the rich heritage (nearly 200 years) of the architecture.
Bergerac (44km): Situated between the Dordogne and the Pecharmant vineyards, Bergerac has Roman churches, half-timbered houses narrow lanes. More crucially, it affords visitors the chance to sample no less than 13 different types of Bergerac wine.
