This charming and comfortable detached cottage is situated in the midst of 12 acres of pasture and farmland, with lovely views across peaceful green fields to woodland beyond. The owners horses graze on the adjacent grassland and the stables can be used by holidaymakers by special arrangement. In an exceptionally quiet location, it is 2 miles from the nearest main road, along a lane that ends just beyond the house, meaning that there is no through traffic.

Ayr town centre is just 3 miles away, with its wealth of good eating places, shops, hotels and bars. Nearby there is plenty to do, with several quality golf courses, including the world famous Royal Troon and Turnberry, beautiful parks at Bellisle and Rozelle, historic Culzean Castle, Crossraguel Abbey and Burns Cottage, many walks along Ayrshire's 80 miles of unspoilt coastal scenery, and not forgetting a day at the races at Ayr Racecourse.

Ayrshire is well placed to offer the visitor plenty of things to do. It has a wide range of visitor attractions across the county and Castles and historic trails abound with many famous sites of interest and ruins to be explored and an abundance of family attractions and outdoor sports facilities.

History and heritage loom large with a list including the very splendid Culzean Castle, nearby Dundonald Castle and other country parks and castles at Kelburn and Dean. Robert Burns was born in nearby Alloway and there are now attractions showcasing his life and works and in May every year a festival of the arts, Burns an' a" That, celebrates his influence.

For the Burns enthusiast or even just the casual visitor a trip to the Burns National Heritage Park is a must. You can enjoy the audio-visual interpretation of Tam O'Shanter Experience before strolling along the road to visit Burns Cottage. Continue the experience with a visit to Souter Johnnie's Cottage or the Bachelor's Club.

For the family how about the Heads of Ayr Farm Park, Vikingar, Loudoun Castle Theme Park or experience a bit of industrial heritage at the Scottish Maritime Museum.

Family leisure centres include The Magnum, Galleon Leisure Centre and The Citadel in Ayr. Other outdoor and sporting facilities include the Newmilns Snow Centre which is about fifteen minutes from Kilmarnock and offers dry slope skiing and snowboarding facilities.

"My children, Parents and i enjoyed our time at Glaisnock Cottage, the location was peaceful, with beautiful scenery, but yet only a short car journey, to Ayr, and surrounding tourist attractions. The Cottage itself, was immaculate and decor was very smart. The large garden and nearby horses were great for the children. Thanks for your hospitality. " - Catherine Knowles and Family - August 2008

"We had a wonderful time (first time for me and the little ones) in Scotland. We all enjoyed the stay at Glaisnock. Its a lovely cottage, the secluded rural location was ideal with plenty of space for young children to run about is a big plus point. To be honest it is a lovely cottage in a nice location and not far from a town. We would recommend it to friends and family without hesitation. " - Seif Morbi and family - August 2008
