Adjoining the owners property but enjoying seclusion, The Retreat has a separate entrance via a paved courtyard and offers very comfortable holiday accommodation.
The ground floor entrance leads into a crisp white well-equipped kitchen with archway into a bright and airy lounge/diner comfortably furnished for that home-from-home feeling and enhanced by windows over-looking the owners charming garden.
The stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor. The large bedroom is attractively furnished in pine and has a handy study area with desk and chair, with delightful views over the garden.
An impressive feature of the bedroom is the large walk-in wardrobe offering extensive storage space. The en-suite shower room has a large shower cubicle, wash hand basin and w.c.
Outside, adjoining the property, is an attractive enclosed courtyard with planted tubs and troughs, garden table and chairs and, of course, a barbecue for those warm summer evenings.

Local activities in and around Hastings, South East
This is the perfect base from which to explore 1066 Country dotted with ancient battlefields and castles, awash with caves and sandy beaches together with an extensive network of walking, cycling and horse riding trails that wind through the beautiful Sussex countryside.
A short drive away is the picturesque town of Battle, with its famous Abbey ruins along with many National Trust and English Heritage places of interest. No better example is that of Batemans, the home of Rudyard Kipling, author of the world famous "Jungle Book".
Throughout the year there are many local festivals and organised events including Morris Dancing to herald the beginning of British Summertime or a thousand knights, bowman and men at arms re-enacting laying siege to Herstmonceaux Castle. Possibly the most popular of all celebrates the Gunpowder Plot and Guy Fawkes in November. However, musical connoisseurs will not be disappointed with concerts at Battle Abbey, Bodium Castle and of course the internationally renowned Glyndebourne. For a change of scenery or simply the opportunity to catch a West End show, London is only 80 minutes away by train direct from nearby Battle Station.
