A stylish and newly renovated yet historic and characterful self contained studio apartment just 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye with own entrance, kitchenette with hob, fridge etc, use of garden, moments walk from village pub.
Nestled in the beautiful Wye Valley village of Whitney on Wye, five miles from the famous literary town of Hay on Wye, is the charming 'Agent's Office' bed and breakfast.
As the name suggests, the accommodation once formed part of the Whitney Court Estate and was originally built as the office for the land agent at the turn of the 20th century.
The Agent's Office is a stylish self contained studio apartment with private entrance. The main room has a grand double height ceiling with fantastic tall arched sash windows, stripped wood flooring and original red herringbone tiles. What is now used as the wardrobe was originally a huge walk in safe and the beautifully crafted safe drawers and cupboards can still be seen, together with the huge hinges on the wall. It contains double bed, smart kitchenette (with hob, fridge, sink etc), cosy armchairs and flat screen tv. In addition there is a gorgeous cast iron log burner for the chillier evenings stocked with logs and kindling. The luxurious shower room also doesn't disappoint. Use is encouraged of the owner's large garden, and we are about 30 seconds walk from the village pub - The Boat Inn, which is a regular stop off for kayakers travelling down the Wye.
As stated the room consists of one double bed but a 'put you up' and/or travel cot are available upon request.
Please note, if renting the apartment on a bed and breakfast basis (since the apartment is self catering) we provide you with a breakfast hamper which you can cook yourself. Please feel free to discuss when you call or email to book or make enquiries.
PLEASE NOTE: At this time (low season) the property is also available on a b&b basis at the cost of £40 per person per night.

1 Shower. There is a newly renovated shower room with large shower cubicle, basin, wc and heated towel radiator.
Kitchen:
Hob, Microwave, Fridge. There is a kitchenette with 2 ring hob, fridge with freezer compartment, cupboards, sink, mixer tap etc.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided. We have a log burner which is stocked with paper, logs and kindling but there is also central heating. We provide towels & bedding but no maid/laundry service unless you specifically ask.
Dining:
Seating for 2. There is a table and 2 chairs but within the accomodation are 2 arm chairs which could be brought around the table so that up to 4 could dine together.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Board Games. We have a selection of books for you to read but we do ask that you return them before leaving! There are a selection of board games too.
Outside:
Garden, Parking. You are most welcome to make use of our garden which is apprximately an acre. We have a variety of fruit trees and lots of different little areas to wander around.

Local activities in and around Whitney on Wye, Heart of England
There are a range of activity facilities close at hand. Kayaking - there is a stop off point 30 seconds or so away at The Boat Inn pub.
We are 5 miles from Hay on Wye, the famous literary town where you will also find cafes, shops (besides book shops), market on a Thursday morning, antique shops, an ice cream parlour...
Hereford is about 20 miles away, which offers shops galore, the cathedral, pubs, bars, plenty of restaurants, a cinema, kids playbarn.
Leominster is also about 20 miles away - loads of antique shops amongst other things.
Small breeds farm park & owl centre
Open 364 days of the year! Great for kids - last time I went there were so many different species of animal, loads of owls and even reindeer!
We are just off the A438 5 miles from Hay on Wye, heading towards Hereford. If coming from Hay on Wye turn right by The Boat Inn, past the camping field and we are the first house on the left.

Rental Notes: During low season The Agent's Office is available on a per night basis of £40 per person.
We do our best to be as flexible as we can as we appreciate different guests have different check in requirements. Our standard timing is check in between 3-7pm and check out before 11am.
We require 50% deposit a fortnight before your stay with the remainder of the balance upon checking out. We are unable to take cards so cheque or bank transfer is fine for the deposit and cash is favoured for the balance.
