La Guesnoniere - Comfortable 4 bedroom holiday house
House with 4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 7
La Guesnonniere is a rural cottage over 200 years old being built in 1796 by the local Sillard family. Nestling in a small hamlet of approximately 10 cottages and close to the Normandy / Brittany border, it is ideally situated in this tranquil and scenic agricultural area for discovering what Normandy and Brittany has to offer.
Situated within walking distance of La Guesnonniere is a man made lake where fisherman fish from the Deux Pont de Biards or 2 bridges of les Biards. It is possible to visit the lake but not swim in it.
Within 10 minutes drive there is the Parc de Loisirs which is a water park and fun park in one for all ages with over 30 attractions and all at a very reasonable price.
Also within 10 minutes drive is La Mazure with its various boating and other lake activities. Granville is approximately 30 minutes drive and has beautiful golden sandy beaches and is very popular.
It is also possible to visit the Normandy Landing Beaches with its many attractions and museums and the beaches themselves.
To the south, around 20 minutes drive, there is the town of Fougeres. Once a fortified town, it still preserves its massive castle (11th-15th century), with 13 towers around its circuit of walls. The courtyard of the castle is used as an open-air theatre. The town of Fougères boasts the largest medieval castle in Europe in addition to several other historic monuments and beautiful gardens. There is a market here each Saturday morning.
