Local activities in and around Le Syndicat, North East
The surrounding mountain scenery is delightful for rambles and nature lovers Trails are well marked and some suitable for mountain biking. The area is well-renouned for road bikes - Gerardmer hosted one of the finishing stages for the Tour de France in 2006. Within metres of the house the old railway line has been converted to a cycling track. Nearby Gerardmer lake provides windsurfing, sailing, canoeing and swimming in summer; downhill and cross-country skiing in winter in Gerardmer and La Bresse and many other small resorts. Both also have sports centres with skating rinks and swimming pools. There is a bowling alley in Gerardmer.
The Alsace Route du Vin provides an excellent day out for wine tasting or a focus for more intensive study.
Day trips to Strasbourg, Colmar and many other areas provide historic and cultural interest. Mulhouse is the city of museums including the Automobile Museum which houses the world's largest collection of Bugattis. Many of the surrounding towns have festivals throughout the year such as the daffodil festival bi-annually in Gerardmer and wine festivals in Colmar.
From Remirement turn left at roundabout heading for Gerardmer. Turn left at 2nd roundabout to St Ame. After 8th zebra crossing turn left for Peccavillers. Pass granite works and museum. 1st left.

Rental Notes: The house is available for weekly rentals Saturday to Saturday during high season and also weekend rentals during low season. Access is available from 4 p.m. on the day of arrival and visitors are asked to vacate by 10 a.m. on their day of departure. The house is clean and tidy on arrival and visitors are expected to leave the house in the same condition. If extra cleaning is required following departure the cost will be deducted from the security bond. 1st October to 1st May heating supplement of £70 per week.
