As the name suggests, Villa Oceane has been designed and decorated to echo the Mediterranean Sea laid majestically before it. From the crisp white walls with curved ‘Santorini’ style edges to reflect the heat and keep the house cool, the carefully chosen palette of blue furnishings and accessories, to the private pool set at the edge of the terrace to blend into the sea, Oceane has a luxurious beach house feel to it.
Built to extremely high standard, Villa Oceane combines comfort and glamour with the most stunning views. Located in the quiet, unspoilt village of Tsivaras, you are just a five minute drive away from the busier beach town of Kalives with many amenities and wide sandy beaches. The rural track leading to the villa ends in a fairly steep gradient at the car park set to the side of the house. But as you enter this beautiful villa you will completely appreciate it’s elevated position as you catch your first glimpse of the unrivalled, panoramic views before you.

Entering into a small entrance hall from the blue, aluminium front door you look directly ahead, through the lounge and out to the swimming pool and terrace. On the right from the hallway is the first double bedroom, simply but comfortably furnished with twin beds, bedside tables, ceiling fan, air conditioning unit and an antique wardrobe. Next to the staircase is a modern, spacious bathroom. The kitchen is fully fitted! The comfortably furnished lounge, has two blue leather sofas and chair, a side table, a coffee table, large bureau and entertainment centre comprising of a television with satellite channels, DVD and separate CD player, book shelf and a/c unit. The large covered terrace is framed in feature arches to provide you with shade away from the heat of the sun. From here you can watch the sun set over the 12 villages and Souda Bay as you enjoy a chilled, pre-dinner drink. To the right of the steps is a large, brick BBQ for dining al fresco. For safety there are rails around the terrace area. The pool itself is set to the edge of the terrace so you can gaze out to sea as you swim a few leisurely laps before an afternoon siesta.
Walking up the 16 wide, curved stairs with smooth, curved walls, to the left of the hallway are two twin bedrooms, both with a/c units and ceiling fans, bedside tables with lamps, imported French wardrobes and a window to the side of the room. Similarly decorated in white with touches of blue, each room has double patio doors leading onto a partially covered shared terrace, with feature arches framing the magnificent sea views. Throughout Oceane, Beatrice and Olivier have brought a subtle touch of France with the little seashore hangings on the doors, the vases in a range of blues to tie into the material of the cushions on both inside and outside furniture. A truly beautiful house with a touch of glamour, you will feel relaxed and completely spoilt in this peaceful and stylish villa.

Local activities in and around Tsivaras, Crete
The Apokoronas area is situated east of the city of Chania and west of the city of Rethymnon. There is one airport near Chania within 30 minutes to reach and another one in Heraklion, one and a half our to go. The district has a size of 313 km² and in the 75 villages live approxemately 13.000 people, many of them are farmers (olives, citrus fruits, vine, sheep and goats). As presumed the word “Apokoronas” comes from the the ancient city of “Ippokoronos” or “Ippokoronion”. The area is one of the most green cretan landscapes because of the water coming in many small rivers from the Levka Ori, the White Mountains. The area is a delightful mix of incomparable landscape and rich vegetation, of tranquil villages partly built from local stone – you may even find the occasional donkey! Increasingly popular with Northern Europeans, Apokoronou has become slightly more cosmopolitan whilst firmly retaining its Cretan heritage and culture.
