This elegant old stone house is located in a private parkland and woodland of 1,5 hectares, 2km from the from the bustling market village of Rouffignac Saint-Cernin (flat road ideal to bicycle!)
Set on the unspoilt Vézère Valley LA GIRODE is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful region and sampling the local specialities in the many excellent restaurants nearby.
Bergerac airport is 45min drive only and the many Chateaux and Bastide towns of the Dordogne are all within a short drive.
The grassy garden is all fenced with large edges and very secluded, providing you a maximum of security and privacy to enjoy and to relax in !

Set on two levels the house comprises : At ground floor : a large living room offering with a cosy salon area, equipped with 2 leather sofas, 1 armchair, 2 coffee tables, a TV, a cd player... and a modern dining area with table and chairs seatting 6. The modern fitting makes a lovely contrast with the character of the room with its exposed stones, original beams, large traditional open fireplace and old sink in stone.
The living leads onto the sunny terrace area, adjacent to the swiming pool.
A well fitted kitchen with cooker, fridge, oven, microwave - this room also leads onto the terrace area, equipped with wooden table and chairs, where you will probably enjoy taking most of your time
A fully restored shower room with a shower and two sinks, sep toilets.
From the living room a wooden staircase leads onto the first floor where are set the bedrooms. They enjoyed a superb exposed roof structure and a splendid view onto the garden and woodland. The main bedroom has a 160cm large bed, wardrobe and TV. The family bedrooms has 3 single beds, and built in wardrobe.
There is a sofa bed on the large landing area to give maximum flexibility in sleeping arrangements, althought this is not our intention that the number of 5 people should be exceeded.
Outside : The private garden is nearly 1,5 hectares large offering you a maximum of privacy and lot of calm.
It is surronded by oaks and chetsnuts woodland at the back and all fenced with a large edges on both sides. There are lot of wild flowers, birds, and even deers coming time to time from the wood!
The newly built pool is 8mx4m. there is a 50cm deep large step making it ideal for the little ones. It is equipped with lot of sunloungers to relax. Adjacent to the pool and enjoying the wonderfull view onto the valley, the terrace area benefits from the natural shadow of the trees. It has a large wooden table and 6 chairs to enjoy dining al fresco outside.

LA GIRODE is only 1,5 mile from the market village of Rouffignac which has shops, incl a supermarket, cafes, restaurants and a nice weekly market. If you like walking, water sports, horse-riding or cycling, and want to test your limits, you'll find what you're looking for in the hills and valleys that are so much part of the Périgord region.
But there's nothing to stop you simply enjoying a quiet walk in the countryside, after which one can return to sit by the pool area and enjoy a refreshing drink whilst looking the countryside all around.
Golfers have a 19 golf course only 15 minutes drive away. Bergerac airport is only 40min driving.

Bed Linen and Towels are not included, but can be hired locally - ( 12 Euros per bed and 7 Euros for 2 towels). Please indicate if you wish to hire them when booking
A deposit of 350 Euros against any breakages and damage is required on arrival. This deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay.
