Villa Petra 2” is an excellent resort where peace; quiet and total communication with the environment is what you are looking for, combined with a touch of traditional luxury. The stone house is surrounded by stunning natural environment with lavish vegetation. The view from the villa will offer you tranquillity and the peacefulness.
Because of its position you can plan daily excursions to the district of Chania, or to any other district as to meet the natural beauty and the many historical places. The old town of Rethymnon (in Rethymnon district) or the Folk museum (in Chania district) is only a few of the choices you have of places to visit. All around the island you shall find many Byzantine church and many monasteries to visit. But what you will discover by visiting traditional villages is the hospitality of the villagers, the traditional recipes and the true traditional way of life.
Many traditional events and feasts take place, especially during the summer time, where the guest is welcomed to observe or even participate. Those feasts include traditional music, dancing and some times traditional food.

Local activities in and around Maza, Crete
In the village Maza near the villa you can find a traditional tavern and a traditional cafeteria where you can taste the real Cretan specialities. For more amenities like mini markets, traditional taverns and cafenions, restaurants, tourist shops, post office, internet café or a local doctor you should drive to the village Vrisses. It’s about a 5min to drive. For an even larger variety like all the necessary shops, numerous taverns and cafenions you can find them all along the coast, but a wide choice, such as banks and a post-office can be found, of course, at a short distance, in Chania. The location of the house makes it perfect for many walks all around the villa. Near the villa is a small Byzantine church to visit (Agios Nikolaos).
Another choice is the village Georgioupolis .It's a beautiful village situated on the northern coast of Crete, at about 35km distance from Chania and 20 km from Rethimno. The village square and tavern are the focal points for evening entertainment. (Chania and Rethimon are extremely interesting with their many shops and attractive Venetian harbour areas).
