A beautiful chalet, located just outside Vaujany in the southern French Alps, La Maitreya represents the very best in traditional Alpine accommodation.
With a roaring log fire, a sauna, en-suite rooms, superb cuisine and wine, friendly and welcoming hosts, what more could you need! The chalet, which is over 500 years old, is chef-catered and sleeps up to 20 people in style and comfort.
The views from La Maitreya are breathtaking, with stunning vistas of the Grandes Rousses mountains, all the way down to Lac Verney in the valley below.

La Maitreya has 8 rooms, each sleeping from 2 to 4 people. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, with shower, WC and basin. The rooms are beautifully furnished and most have south-facing balconies from which to admire the views of Lac Verney in the valley below. The 2-person rooms can all be configured to provide either twin, or double, accommodation.
The living room in the chalet is warm, cosy and inviting and features a traditional wood-burning fireplace with comfy sofas to snuggle up on after a hard day out. The dining room is located just off the living room and provides a wonderful place to relax and exchange news and views with your fellow guests. The chalet is superbly equipped with modern facilities such as a TV, DVD player, wifi internet access, and even a video games console. Plus, there are more traditional features to occupy a spare five minutes, such as board games and puzzles, a book library, magazines and even a CD library, with a choice of music to suit most tastes.
You'd be very welcome to use our sauna, too - and we even provide luxurious Egyptian cotton bathrobes for you to snuggle in afterwards!
If you're here to enjoy the superb skiing in the winter time, we provide a regular shuttle service to and from the lifts, which are about 2 minutes away from the chalet.
Readily accessible from Grenoble, Lyon and Chambery airports, the chalet is a perfect base from which to explore one of the most beautiful parts of France - whether by ski, on foot, by road bike, by car or even by mountain bike!

3 Double Bedrooms, 3 Twin Bedrooms, 2 Family Bedrooms. There are 6, two person rooms in the chalet, that can be configured as either twin or double rooms, as you prefer.
In addition, there are two family rooms, each of which sleeps 4 people.
Bathrooms:
8 Bathrooms, 1 Shower, 1 Separate WC. All of the 8 rooms in the chalet are equipped with their own en-suite bathroom, with shower, WC and basin.
Most rooms have balconies from which to enjoy the superb and unobstructed views.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, Maid Service, Telephone, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. Unless requested otherwise, and with the exception of the staff day off, your rooms will be cleaned each morning by one of our chalet hosts.
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
Dining:
Our dining room seats up to 20 guests and also has its own bar, should you wish to purchase additional drinks and snacks.
Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. There are large, south-facing, terraces leading off from the living room and dining room, that have stunning views of the mountains and surrounding countryside.

For the comfort of all our guests, we have a no-smoking policy inside the chalet (although smoking is permitted on the balconies/terraces).
Local activities in and around Vaujany, Rhone Alps
Vaujany has direct access to some of the best skiing and boarding in the Alps - both on and off piste. With over 250km of pisted runs and a huge selection of off-piste to choose from, there really is something for everybody - complete beginner through to accomplished exert.
To help you get to know the mountain a little better, we provide a free ski hosting service for the first three days of your holiday. Your ski host will take you on a tour of a different part of the area each day, showing you how to get the very best from your time on the slopes. Participation is entirely optional and you are free to choose when and if you would like to take part. To take advantage of our ski hosting service, you need to be able to ski a red run confidently. Our hosts judge the pace and route of the tour according to the abilities of each group and they'll be happy to discuss the service with you when you arrive.
In the summer time, there's even more to here - walking, cycling, MTB, archery, tennis, swimming, water sports, fishing etc etc - the only problem you'll have is fitting it all in! The chalet is simply perfect for cyclists looking to tackle routes such as the Alpe d'Huez climb, the Col de la Croix de Fer, the Col de Glandon and even the infamous Marmotte route. Or, if you prefer your cycling to be little more leisurely, there's plenty here to explore, including a beautiful ride round the Lac Verney damn. For mountains bikers, there's over 250km of graded track - and for the real pros, there's the Megavalance race, that descends over 2000m, from the top of Pic Blanc to the valley below.
There's also lots for children to do in the summer time - with a superb children's club that provides tailored activities to suit the age of your child.
