Location: Set amongst a cluster of thatched cottages in the centre of Axmouth village, near to all the amenities and a mile from the beach at Seaton.
Accommodation: Entrance hall with cloakroom/WC. Farmhouse style solid elm fitted kitchen with breakfast table, electric hob & oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Aga available for cooking/heating from early Sept - early May only, switched off at other times. Utility room containing washing machine and tumble dryer. Spacious sitting room with stairs to first floor, has feature Inglenook fireplace for log fires, 'squashy' sofas, TV and some Sky channels available. DVD. Through to dining room with ornamental stove and dining table which converts to a pool table. Straight stairs to first floor: Master Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, en-suite bathroom with bath, hand shower attachment, basin and WC. Bedroom 2 has twin 3' single beds. Bedroom 3 has a king size bed. Bedroom 4 has twin 3' single beds plus a cot and is adjacent to shower room with cubicle, basin and WC.
Outside: Paved terrace with patio furniture. Large gravelled courtyard/parking area. Sloping grassy bank garden with trees, winding pathway and wooden seat. Summerhouse with BBQ at top of garden.
This remains one of our most popular destinations and in our opinion offers a superior standard of holiday accommodation. Furnished and equipped throughout in traditional country style, the property features interesting antiques, a wonderful Inglenook fireplace where open fires can be enjoyed and a stylish blue Aga in the kitchen if you fancy cooking in real farmhouse fashion. Table tennis and pool are on hand at the property for evening or rainy day entertainment and a golf course is within easy reach. Boat launching facilities are a short drive away and the nearby River Axe is a haven for bird watchers. There are lovely country walks in the area! Stepps Barn is particularly suitable for large parties, families or couples seeking lots of space. Despite its name, there are only a few 'steps' here and the stairs in the property are straight! A property difficult to better any time of the year.
