Casa Gaia is a first class apartment in a great location. From the living room and dining room you have one of the best views in central Lucca, of Piazza Cittadella which, with its restaurants and bars and people coming and going, takes you to the very heart of Italian life.
With 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) Casa Gaia is ideal for a small family, or one or two couples.

The apartment is on the first floor of a traditional Lucca house. In the early 1900’s the apartment used to be a workshop where floor tiles were hand painted with traditional designs that were popular in well-to-do houses of the time. These tiles are now increasingly rare and form a lovely background to the living room and kitchen in this charming apartment.
Apart from the tiled floor, the living room has white walls, comfortable furniture and prints and pictures on the walls (see photo ‘Living room’).
The kitchen / dining room is next door to the living room. It is well appointed and with modern kitchen fittings. This is a nice size room, with space to sit and eat round the table. It enjoys the same view of the piazza as the living room.
The entrance to the apartment contains a toilet / washroom, while on the side across from the living room are the two bedrooms and the bathroom (with shower). The bedrooms are of the same standard of furniture and decoration as the living room and kitchen – one contains a double bed and the other 2 singles (which can be put together to form a double as required).

Local activities in and around Lucca, Tuscany
Visitors are spoilt for choice on every front as bars, restaurants of all price levels, shops, churches and museums are all in the streets and piazzas round about. Piazza San Michele, a couple of minutes walk away, is Lucca’s central piazza with the white marble church (like a giant wedding cake) as its centrepiece. Here there is always a bustle of things happening – from the Christmas market, with stalls of every description, to summer music concerts. On the wider front Lucca is a transport hub so that day return visits to Florence, Pisa, Viareggio and the Garfagnana are highly feasible.

A full choice of restaurants from luxury, to trattorie to salads bars and pizzas Shopping: Famous names boutiques, speciality food shops, market and supermarkets Culture:Theatre and concerts (specially Puccini), art exhibitions, churches, villas.
