Traditional Perigordine house - sleeps 7/8. The traditional barn is located in a charming and calm hamlet named Pyraine. The spacious stone house has two levels: the bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor, the living room, kitchen, dining room and laundry room are on the ground floor. You can walk out onto the stone terrace to enjoy your meals, unless you prefer the more shaded veranda, equipped with a stone tap and a stone built-in barbecue. All has been planned for your peace, your relaxation, your privacy, in a beautiful and silent environment.
Near Bergerac (20 km), Issac village, located 5 kms from Pyraine hamlet, has a little food store. If you wish to fill the fridge a bit more , you will need to go to Mussidan (10 kms). There you will find 2 large supermarkets and all other requested shops and restaurants. Every Saturday enjoy the local covered fresh food market. Fruit and vegetables galore, all fresh from the local gardens, back yard poultry and all other fresh products you may dream of in order to prepare a high quality cuisine. Also, on Wednesdays, do not miss the famous food market in Bergerac (20 kms). Also, all main famous sites describing our prehistoric origins are located within one hour's drive.
La Grange de Pyraine has been graded four stars (****) by the Dordogne Department of Tourism Committee.

Hence it has kept its name “La Grange” (the Barn) and its authentic atmosphere characterized by its stone walls, its traditional old beams and its original flat tiled roof.
Pyraine is a tiny hamlet of 7 homes surrounded by a forest of chestnut and pine trees. In this hamlet “La Grange” has been developed into a comfortable and roomy (200 sqm) home, beautiful to admire and lovely to live in. You will find it is furnished with antique furniture and has high quality equipment. It is decorated with books, objects and paintings that will make you feel at home and forget it is a rented house.

If you feel like visiting some prehistoric sites, you may leave in the morning, come back in the evening, just in time for a well deserved relaxing dive in the pool! Feel like cooking? The kitchen is fully equipped. Feel like listening to music? In the sitting room there are set-in loud speakers for a home cinema effect.
This adorable farmhouse is in a glorious setting, extremely quiet. There is no noise apart from the birds & wild deer that you frequently see. You can go walking for mile upon mile & may even find the famous French mushroom (the cepe of Bordeaux) to accompany dinner al fresco in the pretty enclosed garden or by the barbecue. The glorious pool, which has a full security system, is very safe for children.
In the area there are hundreds of things to do, including canoeing, horse-back riding, walking, golf, many famous tourist sites of historic note. The Dordogne is full of wonderful chateaus & architecture & beautiful villages, remarkable night skies, fantastic wildlife, daily markets & weekly vide greniers (French style car boot sales). The Dordogne is famous for its short winters, so long term lets are therefore very interesting: the climate is extremely agreable for most of the year!!

Rental Notes: Notes: The sitting room leads to the first floor by a large wooden and safe staircase. Under it, the quiet office area is far away enough from the TV area which is located by the fire place. Here you will also find the DVD, the video player, the stereo system, the tape player, and many loud speakers that optimise the sound effect.
The laundry room is equipped with a washing machine, a tumbler, an ironing board and a modern steam iron. Just beside one may find a cloakroom and a toilet with a small wash basin. The living room opens onto the terrace continued by the garden. You may wish to have lunch or dinner on this terrace or in the veranda equipped with a tap and a stone built-in barbecue. This veranda opens up onto the garden, but shades you from the sun during lunch time, which is really very nice.
