Situated in the centre of a plateau with 4 small villages within a radius of 5 km this house is surrounded by vineyards (growing the Champagne grapes used in the distilling of the Brandy), blackcurrants (to make delicious Cassis), sunflowers & maize with a sprinkling of farms between, the nearest neighbour being about 500yds away.
The ideal occupations here, other than sleeping, are cycling, walking & of course swimming in the good size swimming pool. The house is simply furnished but with all the usual ameneties in the modern kitchen & bathrooms. Saintes has markets every day and in the summer there are boat trips along the Charente River visiting small rustic villages along the way.
The picturesque harbour town of La Rochelle with its Aquarium is approx. 45 mins away as is the seaside town of Royan sporting miles of golden sands & a delightful Zoo. Bordeaux and the Dordogne, an hour away, well known for good wine, have many Chateaux with vineyards to visit.
