Nestled in the heart of the Brittany countryside, La Cachette is a newly renovated eighteenth century farmhouse. 15 minutes drive from the medieval town of Dinan, with easy access to all major ports, the house is ideally located for those looking to explore all four corners of Brittany, and within reach of many of Brittany’s tourist attractions, golf courses and beaches.
Situated in an acre of private gardens, La Cachette provides visitors with the perfect environment in which they can unwind and take in the French countryside.
Open all year, with short breaks available from September to May, the four bedroom, four bathroom gite comfortably accommodates eight, with additional facilities for children. The tranquillity of La Cachette combined with the stunning scenery of the Brittany countryside and coast will undoubtedly provide you with a memorable holiday.
We have landscaped the garden to enable guests to take advantage of the Brittany sunshine, with a large patio area with BBQ and dining facilities to the rear of the property, and a roof terrace on the first floor of the house where guests can take in the morning sun.
Inside La Cachette, guests have access to a spacious open plan kitchen and dining room with a wood-burning stove, and a large dining table that seats up to ten guests. Guests have use of a fitted kitchen comprising a breakfast bar, a large range oven and cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Further facilities are available in the house’s utility room.
The lounge looks out to the rear of the property, with large folding doors providing unspoilt views to the garden. Guests can relax in this room on large leather sofas in front of the wood-burning stove. La Cachette also has a snug which provides additional seating and a DVD player through which guests can take advantage of our extensive film library. The downstairs bathroom has a shower and WC.
The bedrooms
The bedrooms are set over two floors. On the first floor, bedroom 1 has access to the terrace, which provides outstanding views onto the garden. Guests can access the roof terrace from the landing. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and an en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 provides twin accommodation and this room also has en suite facilities.
On the second floor, bedroom 3 is the largest bedroom, with a king size bed and a cot. Bedroom 4 has a double bed. Both of these rooms have access to the family bathroom. There is also a spacious landing area on this floor that overlooks the atrium within the house, where guests can relax on easy chairs and help themselves to books from the library.
Children and babies are welcome at any age. A cot with linen and bedding and a high chair are provided upon request.

Places to visit within half an hour’s drive
Dinan Perched above the River Rance, this walled, medieval city is one of Brittany’s most beautiful towns. The cobbled streets of the old town are the focal point of Dinan, while the roads leading down to the port are lined with art galleries, antique shops, creperies and restaurants.
Dinard Dinard is one of France’s oldest seaside resorts, and today retains much of its heritage with striped bathing tents and seaside carnival rides. Dinard’s main attractions are its beaches, Olympic-sized swimming pool and water sports.
Bécherel Bécherel is particularly picturesque and houses France’s biggest concentration of second-hand book shops. The maze of little streets in the town are lined with bookshops, galleries and studios guaranteed to bring many hours of happy browsing.
Dol de Bretagne Dol de Bretagne is a charming town which holds an excellent market on Saturday mornings.
St Malo Squatting at the mouth of the River Rance, St Malo is famed for its walled city and nearby beaches. The narrow streets are lined with numerous shops, restaurants and bars.
Mont St Michel An enchanting tidal island, the main attraction of Mont St Michel is its famous abbey which provides an impressive sight with its pinnacled Gothic pyramid. Mont St Michel is about forty minutes drive from La Cachette.

Saturday is usually the changeover day for the property for weekly rentals from mid-May to September but we can be flexible outside this period.
Short Breaks Short breaks are available from mid September to mid May (exclusive of the main holiday periods) at a percentage of our weekly rate: - 2 or 3 nights at 70% - 4 nights at 80% - 5 nights at 90%
