La Pinsonnerie is in 16 private acres on the edge of Angles sur L'Anglin, 'One of the most beautiful villages in France '. The river Anglin winds through the village which has a ruined castle on a hill overlooking . Only 45 minutes east of Poitiers which now has a daily flight from Stanstad on Ryan Air ( in the summer season) It comprises a 5 bedroom L shaped farm house, and a cottage, (not let with the main house) set round three sides of a courtyard garden. There is a high stone wall with ornate iron gates on the fourth side.
A large chestnut tree provides shade for our boulodrome (well, the sandy area we have made to play boules on!)Behind the house is another garden, and to the side is the 40 foot pool, which has floodlights for night time bathing, a terrace, with sunloungers, BBQ, and bench tables for eating outside.
The area which is south of the Loire Valley,and north of the Dordogne is known as 'La France Profonde' and is peaceful and unspoiled.

The pretty house and cottage are of rendered stone, and oak construction, and ooze character and charm. All the downstairs rooms (except the studio) and the granary have lovely old terracotta tiled floors, and there are beautiful oak beams everywhere. It is a very private setting, but you are only a few minutes walk from the river, and village. Coming through the gates, you enter a pretty grass courtyard, with flower beds, and window boxes, and a large chestnut tree, beneath which we play boules.
Entering the house internal French windows lead into the beautiful Farmhouse kitchen/ dining room with hand built and painted kitchen cupboards,butler’s sink and Rayburn. There is a gas cooker with electric oven, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. The dining end has an old pine table with an antique wrought iron and crystal chandelier above, and stone fireplace. A staircase rises up to the beautiful granary living room and a double and twin bedrooms.
The other side of the front door is a comfortable double bedroom with loo and hand basin next door which looks over the courtyard, and the back garden. Exiting the kitchen the other way brings you down 3 steps, into the large hall, off which is a family bathroom and seperate loo.
The bathroom has a bath , wall mounted shower, bidet and basin . At the end of the hall are french windows into the courtyard and a back door . There is also the 'studio bedroom which is a twin ; we can add 2 Z beds if required for children.
Outside the back door of the main house is a path that leads down to the pool with underwater lighting, and a roman end. It is surrounded by a terrace and laurel hedge, with the garden to the side, and fields beyond.
There are sunloungers, a bbq and bench tables. A second staircase rises out of the hall into a double bedroom with en suite bathroom which is also en suite to a twin bedroom the other side. Access to this is from the granary.

Seating for 8. Lovely original farmhouse pine table seats 8 people but there is another table you can add on the end. There is an open fire which is great for atmosphere in the shoulder seasons.

Good golf course 15 minutes away at La Roche Posay. Riding also 15 minutes. Fishing on the river. Rock climbing in the area.
Gliding 25 minuts away at Le Blanc. Good clay tennis courts in next door village. Futuroscope at Poitiers, The lake area of La Brenne is about 40 minutes which has lots of water sports and things for children.
Snake Island and Monkey Island doable in a day. Vinyards of Tourraine Poitou close ,and Loire Valley about one and a half hours north.
45 minutes east of Poitiers and the airport.
