Bernard and Malika Gelibert give a personal welcome to their guests. This former Charantais barn has been converted into excellent accommodation for 6 people. Situated in a small hamlet in the rolling Charente countryside it is ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday, walking or cycling the country lanes, sipping a glass of wine on the patio while watching the sun setting on the horizon, or relaxing around the pool.
Looking for a relaxing holiday in the French countryside, set among the sunflowers of the Charente? Our gite is in a small hamlet of the Charente countryside with glorious views over the fields. A former barn which was professionally converted to give excellent accommodation for up to six guests.
On the ground floor one will find a fully equipped kitchen/dining area with all modern amenities including a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, hob, and a large farmhouse table. Next to this is a large lounge with a comfortable suite, coffee table, television receiving both French and English programmes and patio doors to the front and rear.
Upstairs are 3 double bedrooms all with comfortable beds,bedside tables and wardrobes. From these bedrooms are views over the countryside. Also on the upper floor is a bathroom with bath/shower and seperate WC.
To the rear of the property is a large patio area with table and chairs and a BBq,ideal for dining in the warm summer evenings. The garden extends from the patio area with childrens swings and a slide. Also to the rear is a large 10 mtr by 5 mtr swimming pool with sun loungers and fenced to comply with safety regulations. At the front of the property is a courtyard with parking for cars.

Local activities in and around Chasseneuil, Charente/Vendee/W. Loire
Les Blondeaux is a small hamlet in the North Charente countryside. The nearest village, St Angeau at 2 km has a small supermarket, 2 bars, butcher and two boulangeries.
The town of La Rochfoucauld with its X11c chateau is about 10 km away. The old walled city of Angouleme is 25km away while further afield is Jarnac and Cognac with tours available of the distilleries. The coastal towns of Royan and La Rochelle are a 2 hr drive. Limoges is a 1 hr drive.
Canoe hire on the river Charente is available at Mansle, or try the velorail at Confolens or Rumaziers, an old railway track where you hire a 5 seater machine to cycle on the track. Monkey valley is about half an hour away by car and for a day out for all the family Futuroscope at Poitiers is an hours drive away.
Rental Notes: Saturday change over. Arrival after 4pm departure before 10am.
Mid week and Weekend breaks available outwith high season please enquire for rates. PLEASE NOTE Central heating is included in the price during the winter months. Longer term rental also available please enquire for rates. The price is fully inclusive of bed linen, towels, electricity, gas, supply of high chairs and cots. Final cleaning if required is 50euros.A security deposit of 300 euros is payable on arrival and refunded on departure.
