"Hobby-Horse Cottage" is a delightful cottage in a tucked away position only a five minute walk away from Freshwater Bay itself. The property is attached at the rear to Milton Lodge and would have been the servants' quarters many years ago.
The cottage is now owned separately from the Lodge and has recently been completely redecorated and furnished to provide excellent accommodation in a peaceful, tranquil setting in a much sought after area of the Island. There is a private garden with patio area (patio furniture is provided), which is perfect for relaxing in. There is also parking for two cars in specified areas on the private drive leading to the property.
Lounge
As already mentioned the beach is only a five minute walk away at Freshwater Bay. Tennyson Down (National Trust) is a similar distance. Dimbola Lodge, which houses the collection of the Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, is about 100 yards from the property. Freshwater village, which has the air of a town, is about a mile away and has many local shops, supermarkets, chemists and West Wight Leisure Centre with indoor swimming pool and other facilities. Freshwater Golf Club is also close by and The Needles, Alum Bay, Totland, Colwell Bay and Yarmouth are all within a ten minute drive.
