In an excellent location just 100 metres from a sandy beach, safe bathing and at low tide is good for seafood and shell fish catching. There is a slip way 250m away plus general store/bar/take-away food within walking distance. Parking room for a small boat/trailer. Damgan, a seaside resort is 5km and Vannes 20 mins drive. Muzillac is 5kms with many shops, supermarkets, banks and restaurants. All have very good weekly markets.
La Roche Bernard and the river Villaine are 20 mins away or you can take a boat trip up the river from Muzillac.
If you call in at one of the four supermarkets on your way down, there will be no need to use your car for days. Just walk down the lane to buy fresh bread and croissants.

Local activities in and around Vannes, Brittany
Billiers is a little fishing and sailing harbour 1km from Pen Lan where there is a good beach, port , tennis court and restaurant. Exceptional views from the coastal paths enable you to explore the entrance to the river Vilaine and its marshy surroundings. Good area for birdspotting. Brière National Park is easily reached from the gite by driving 12kms to Arzal and crossing the bridge into the Gerande. The centre of the Brière is Fédrun where you can take a flat-bottomed punt and pole away along the canals.For over 300 years the inhabitants made a living from cutting the peat and from sheep and wild fowling.Their mud-walled, whitewashed, heavily thatched houses can still be seen.
La Baule, a large popular resort is east of here with a 5km long beach and many resturants. Vannes, an old walled town and port, is a 20 minute drive. It has a market twice a week , lots of good shops in cobbled streets of crocked buildings, excellent seafood restaurants, a oceanic and tropical aquarium, supermarkets and is the gateway to the Gulf of Morbihan.
