Nestling in the tranquil Vosges mountain village of Le Grand Valtin, the bright and spacious chalet is 130 m2 and has everything for a relaxing holiday. The property is surrounded by national forest and, at an altitude of 850 metres (2,800 feet), enjoys glorious views over a lush valley.
Only 10 km from the ski resorts of Gerardmer and La Bresse, minutes from stunning mountain lakes and a 30 minute drive from the vineyards of Alsace, the property is ideally located for a truly wonderful holiday, at any time of year.
A 4 bedroomed, 2 bathroomed chalet fitted out for your every comfort. Amenities, shopping and a large choice of restaurants are all within a 10 minute drive. There are three restarants in our neighbouring village, Le Valtin. Within minutes of Le Cerf you can find plenty to do: alpine & x-country skiing, cycling, walking, sailing, windsurfing, lake & pool swimming, horseriding, high ropes, Christmas markets, castles, vineyards to visit. Beautiful drives.
Facilities for this holiday chalet in Gerardmer, North East
3 Double Bedrooms, 1 Twin Bedroom. The Master Bedroom has a 4 poster bed, Alsace style furniture and small washroom.
Two double bedrooms - excellent quality beds. The twin bedroom is equiped with bunk beds and solid pine furniture.
Bathrooms:
2 Showers, 1 Separate WC. The main shower room and toilet is equipped with a large and powerful shower. The shower cabin has a small seat for showering children. The other shower room is ensuite to one of the bedrooms.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with modern equipment. There is a five ring gas stove, electric oven. The kitchen is also equipped with a coffee machine, fondue and raclette set.
General:
Real Fire, Central Heating, House Linen. For small children the following facilities are provided: carry cot, play pen, high chair, baby bath, stair gate. (please give at least 2 weeks notice if these items are required)
Dining:
Seating for 8. There is a solid pine table and 8 pine chairs in the chalet
Entertainment:
Satellite TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. DVD player, comfortable sofas, large coffee/games table and books.
Outside:
Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. The terrace is south facing overlooking the garden. There is also a swing set for the children.

Local activities in and around Gerardmer, North East
The region offers countless possibilities:-
WINTER- within minutes of the cottage are downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snow-shoeing.
SPRING, SUMMER AND AUTUMN - mountain biking, hiking, sailing, windsurfing, swimming, canoeing, fishing, parascending and horse-riding.
All year round - a splendid half hour drive and you can be wine tasting or exploring the gorgeous villages or ancient castles of Alsace - a true delight but especially in autumn or when browsing the fairytale Christmas markets.
Gerardmer
Tourist town with lake and watersports. Special events and festivals go on throughout the year including flower festival (April), Christmas market (December), August 15 celebrations and fireworks display.
6-7 hours from Calais or 1 1/2 hours from Basle airport. 40 minutes from Colmar. Approximately 10km from Gerardmer, take the road to Xonrupt Longemer. In Xonrupt turn left to Le Grand Valtin.

Rental Notes: *Prices are per week, from Saturday 4:00 pm to Saturday 10:00 am. *Weekends can be made available during off-peak periods (contact owner for availability). *Price includes - Bed linen (weekly rents), gas, electricity (summer months) and firewood. Towels available on request (extra cost). *A 30% booking down payment is required, with the balance fully paid 8 weeks before arrival date. Bank drafts and cheques in euros or sterling can be arranged through your local bank at your expense, we do not cover banking charges. *Security deposit of £150 for cleaning and damage which will be returned, in full, within 4 weeks after departure, if premises are left in a good and clean condition. *If you wish to stay for 2 weeks, then a reduction of 10% is available on the second week. *Sorry, No Pets. *No smoking inside the chalet. *This property is on mains water and we ask that people use bio products where possible for the septic tank to operate properly.

"We did thoroughly enjoy our short stay and found the Le Cerf comfortable and equipped with everything we needed.Being able to use the garage too was a great bonus - bikes are quite easily stolen and people are used to putting them away, although I have to say that it is very quiet at Le Cerf and you could probably leave them unlocked with a "steal me" sign and they would still be there!
