Tweedledum is a delightful luxurious beamed cottage with very comfortable hand carved king size 4 poster bed and is ideal for a romantic break for two or as a base for walking or cycling holidays.
Tweedledum is one of three cottages, the other being Tweedledee (ref EH4285) next door and Thimble Cottage (ref EH1542) just around the corner. The cottages are ideal for holidaying with friends and / or family as they can be booked individually, as a pair or altogether.
The Sitting Room with squashy leather sofa & DVD's
The cottage is owner managed to a very high standard, and every effort has been taken to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Accommodation & Facilities: Beamed sitting room with TV, video and surround sound DVD/CD player. Generous selection of popular video tapes, CD's and over 70 DVD's to watch. Controllable (by you) central heating. Instant hot water. Well equipped kitchen/diner to include microwave and dishwasher. Large bedroom with stripped floors, King size hand carved 4 poster bed adorned with soft linen, leather chaise, feature cast iron fireplace. Feather duvet & pillows (synthetic available for allergy sufferers). Luxury upstairs bathroom with shower, underfloor heating & heated towel rail.
Garden with teak table & chairs. Two bicycles which you are welcome to borrow (at your own risk). Generous off street parking for one car per cottage. All rates are inclusive of utilities, heating, towels & linen. The only additional charge that we make is for pets and babies which are £25. We regret that we do not allow smoking inside the cottage - it's beautiful and we would like to keep it that way. We do not accept children, only babies. Your well behaved pets are welcome.

1 Bathroom. We have just installed a new luxury bathroom which has a large double ended bath, shower & underfloor heating. Fluffy towels and continuous instant hot water are included.

Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Dishwasher, Iron. The kitchen / diner is very well eqipped and provides access to the garden.
General:
Central Heating, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. Our rates are inclusive of towels linen, utilities and broadband wireless internet access which is available throughout the cottage.

Seating for 2. There is a dining area in the Kitchen.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Video, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. There is a fabulous (70+) selection of popular films to watch on the surround sound DVD and video player. There is also a clock radio which has an iPOD docking station.
Outside:
Garden, Parking, Garden Furniture. The cottage has its own off street car parking which is quite unusual for Derbyshire villages. The garden funriture is teak.

Local activities in and around Bakewell, Heart of England
Many of our guests find our cottages so comfortable that they just and relax and enjoy a well earned break but the Peak District does offer numerous attractions and activities if you do want a more active holiday - there is something for everybody.
Tweedledum is conveniently located in the heart of the village of Youlgreave and within easy walking distance of the 3 village pubs (all of which serve good home cooked food), newsagent, 2 butchers / general stores and the village Post Office.
Within easy strolling distance is Lathkill Dale for fabulous walks. Also within easy walking distance is the local cinema (Village hall) which is a fabulous local event and shows around 8 films per year
Bakewell, home of the famous Bakewell pudding is just 3 miles away and the Peak Train is only a short drive away. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are both within a few minutes drive. With the Penine Way just a few minutes stroll away there are many fabulous walks from the doorstep and there are guide books in the cottage to help you choose. The cable car at Matlock is just a few minutes drive away. Horseriding is available in the next village. The spectacular Blue John Caverns are within easy driving distance as is Alton Towers.
Tweedledum Cottage is located in the heart of the Peak District Village of Youlgreave which is 3 and a half miles from Bakewell and about half an hours drive from Junction 28 of the M1.

We are open all year round and we offer short mid week and weekend breaks (minimum 3 nights) outside peak season with the start date being flexible.
A regular 3 night weekend break is £240 and a regular mid week 3 night break is £210.
3 nights over a bank holiday weekend is £255.00
Change over day is flexible for weekly breaks outside peak season when the change over day is Saturday.
We regret that we are not insured to take children, only babes in arms.
