Comfortable furnishings in modern and traditional style with spacious open plan living to a very good standard. South facing with panoramic views of sea and countryside creating a very peaceful aspect. With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there is ample space for two families with the added advantage of a separate entrance at ground level to two of the bedrooms each with a shower room and dressing room.
The centre of Begur is just 1.5km [less than 5mins drive] and 7 mins by car will take you to the charming sandy beach at Tamariu with waterfront restaurants. Within 15 mins is Calella de Palafrugell which has a string of sandy coves and a pretty coastal path [15mins walk] to Llafranc with its crescent shaped beach amd marina. All are full of character with good restaurants and shops. Many other beaches and places of interest close by.
La Colina is on two levels and the accommodation is arranged as follows: A drive leads to the house with an entrance on the ground floor to two bedrooms [double and twin] each with dressing area and shower room. Steps lead up to the front door which opens into a large open plan living area with open kitchen and utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Glass sliding doors wrap around two walls to a deep terrace with spectacular views. Here you can enjoy uninterrupted views and relax in a sunbed or deckchair. Dining table and chairs for 10 people makes this an excellent al fresco spot! A wood burning stove as well as air conditioning (hot and cold) makes this house an excellent choice for year round holiday rentals.
The living room has two sofas, occasional furniture and dining table and chairs for ten people. Sat TV with English channels [freeview], dvd/radio. The kitchen and utility area is well-equipped with oven, hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine / tumble dryer, toaster, kettle, etc.
A hallway leads from the living room to a separate area with three bedrooms each with doors to the terraces. The main double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is another bathroom which serves two twin bedrooms. On the lower level by separate entrance is a double and a twin bedroom each with dressing room and shower room providing 'space' for two families.
A rear garden approached by steps has a built-in barbecue area, seating and lawn providing an ideal area in which to relax and enjoy the views away from the house and pool. The private swimming pool [6.5 x 3.5m] is easily accessed from the living area and bedrooms on the upper level. 10 sunbeds, 4 deckchairs, terrace dining table and chairs for 10 people. and table and chairs at the bbq area. There are two washing lines at the back of the house close to the utility area.
Girona airport is 40mins drive and Barcelona 1.5hrs drive (approximate times).

Furnished and decorated to a very good standard. Access to the superb hillside town of Begur is easy and there are many beaches close by.

Seating for 10. Dining table and chairs for 10 in the house. Table and chairs for 10 on the terrace and large picnic table at the bbq area seating 8-10.
Entertainment:
Terrestrial TV, Satellite TV, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games. Begur- Superb choice of restaurants, bars, cafes and a small number of discos. There are many late night bars and the central square is adorned with local artists' work and delicacies in the season.
Outside:
Private Pool, Terrace, Garden, BBQ, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. Gardens and terracing surround the villa and the part covered dining terrace provides shade as do the trees at the back of the villa. With a southerly aspect you can always find the sun!

Local activities in and around Begur, Costa Brava/Catalonia
Tennis and horseriding- 5 mins drive. Beach activities, snorkelling, diving- 10min drive. The beaches in this region are superb. All sandy with blue flags and mostly a shallow entrance making it safe for little ones. There is rarely overcrowding as there is such a choice of beaches and some are relatively unknown by tourists. This area attracts many spaniards from Barcelona and other parts of Spain, many of whom have holiday homes here.
Go-karting for kids and adults-10mins drive. Water park- 20mins drive. Zoo- 10mins drive. Cycling- bykes can be hired in Palafrugell. Golf- many golf courses within 10-20 mins drive. The house manual gives details of all the courses in the local vicinity. Sailing- 10mins drive. There is a sailing club at Sa Riera and kayaks and pedallos for hire. Kayaks also at Calella.
Cultural activities- all over the region: Figueres- Dali's museum- 40mins drive. Medieval towns- 15-20 mins drive- Peratallada- a must to visit. Restaurants- too numerous to mention. Begur has a very good choice as do the coastal villages. Shops- an interesting selection of very good shops selling clothes, jewellery, etc. Food- excellent speciality shops in Begur for fish and meat plus very good supermarkets.
Walking- this is wonderful walking country, especially out of season when it is not so hot. The tourist office has a map showing popular walks. Skiing- within 3 hours you can be on the slopes in Andorra. Night life- plenty if you want it but there is not a string of discos here. Mainly late night cellar bars with music, some with dancing. There is a club in Begur and one just outside, not far from the villa but well away from everything and everyone! The main square has entertainment in the high season with a mixture of traditional and modern music and dancing. Wonderful to just sit and watch!
