The apartments of the Dona Lola resort are set right beside the sea, amid heavily scented gardens, swaying palms, and waterfalls, and in a superb climate.
Dona Lola is ideally situated at Calahonda, between Malaga Airport (25 minutes drive) and Marbella (ten minute drive).
This spacious 3 bedroom penthouse is air-conditioned, and has superb uninterrupted sea-views from it's large Southerly facing balcony.
Facilities on this prestigeous Gold-Crown complex include three pools, tennis courts, and an indoor leisure centre.
The spacious lounge and dining area is characterfully decorated in a nautical theme, befitting the location. My collection of sea-shells and lighthouses from all over the world are displayed here !
The delightful ambience of these light & airy rooms is enhanced in the evening by subtle lighting effects, utilising no fewer than 16 lamp bulbs. (Some of the shells light up ! )
A comfortable corner settee offers both a sea-view and satelite TV channels ! The view from the balcony is just breathtaking.
With 3 individually designed bedrooms, all with twin beds, this apartment is suitable for both families and groups of single-sex golfers. Both bathrooms have powerful shower over bath. The spacious en-suite master bedroom has beautiful sea views from the main window AND the shower.
The recently re-fitted kitchen is fully equipped with integral dishwasher, AEG washing machine, giant fridge/freezer, etc.
A cot and high-chair are supplied for our younger guests. There's a playground & Kids club.
The facilities on Dona Lola are extensive. The giant outdoor pool starts at a shallow end safe for youngsters, and then meanders alongside the sea for 270 feet and under 3 bridges, before reaching the deep end.
A wide range of reasonably priced food and drink is available from the pool-side terrace bar. There are several more bars and restaurants within a three minute walk.
The beach is just a few steps down from the loungers around the pool. You can walk along the beach for as long as you want, in both directions. Walking right for 30 minutes will take you to Cabopino, a lovely harbour with beautiful beaches & really nice restaurants. To the left is La Cala, a more typical Spanish village with loads of bars and restaurants, and another nice beach.
In addition to the giant outside pool, we have a sheltered over 18's pool, and a heated indoor pool in the leisure complex, along with steam-rooms, sauna, jacuzzi, and a well-equipped gym.

3 Twin Bedrooms. All bedrooms have spacious fitted wardrobes, big enough for all your clothes & cases !
Clothes hangers, hair-dryer, and English sockets provided. Colour TV, Hi-Fi, and floor-safe in master-bedroom.

2 Bathrooms. Both fully-tiled bathrooms have powerful shower over bath.
The en-suite bathroom has a bidet, and a lovely view from the shower !
Both are provided with ample cabinets, towel-rails and mirrors.
Kitchen:
Cooker, Hob, Microwave, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Iron. The kitchen was totally refitted in 2006, with new integral dishwasher and cooker / hob. Just everything is provided, right down to an electric drinks mixer, garlic press, and boiled-eggs machine !
General:
Central Heating, Maid Service, Air Conditioning, House Linen, Towels Provided, Internet Access. A full air-conditioning system, to all 3 bedrooms and lounge / diner, doubles up in the cooler months as a heating system. The temperature can be set to "your comfortable level" in all seasons.
Dining:
Seating for 6. The spacious lounge allows plenty of room for the dining area, with a large and elegant glass-topped dining table and 6 comfortable chairs. A bright & airy place in which to dine.
Entertainment:
Satellite TV, DVD, Radio, CD System, Board Games, Table Tennis, Tennis Court. With it's 3 pools, indoor leisure complex, tennis courts, children's club & playground, organised activities, excursions, and free evening entertainment, there is something for everyone on Dona Lola.
Outside:
Communal Pool, Garden, Parking, Balcony, Garden Furniture. The spacious balcony, commanding unimpeded views over the Ocean & beach (and the African Coast on a clear day) has a dining table, 6 chairs, and 2 loungers. Ample space to dine "Al Fresco" !
Suitability:

Local activities in and around Calahonda, Costa del Sol - Malaga
On the nearby beaches of Cabopino you can try water-skiing, jet-biking, wind-surfing etc., or partake of a dolphin-trip aboard a trimaran yacht.
Ten minutes drive away at "Funny-Beach", there's an aquatic version of bumper-cars, along with go-karts, mini-bikes, trampolines, bungy-jumping etc.
There's a diving-school and casino at Torreblanca, a superb fantasy-world theme-park and cable-car at Benalmadena, horse-riding and water-park at nearby Fuengirola, and quad-biking and bowling at very nearby Miraflores.
But if you want to stay put on Dona Lola, no problem. There are two flood-lit tennis courts, snooker tables, and pool-tables. There's a children's club, and a great variety of activities are arranged for all ages throughout the high season, ranging from 5-a-side football, to French "Boules". You can even learn how to make Paella, or to speak Spanish ! Discos are arranged for the youngsters, and free and regular evening entertainment is provided to suit all ages.
There is no shortage of bars & restaurants on Dona Lola. Within a 3-minute walk of my apartment there are 8 bars and 7 restaurants, including Chinese, Indian, Spanish, English, & all-day-buffet. Within a further 5 minutes walk there's a traditional Spanish "tapas" bar, an incredibly good value Hong-kong restaurant, & another Indian restaurant. And a further 5-minute walk, a Macdonalds! If that's not enough, there are lively theme-bars, karaoke bars, and late-bars just across the footbridge in Calahonda (5 minutes walk).
There is a host of night-clubs in nearby Fuengirola, La Cala, and Marbella, all just a taxi-ride away.
There is a small but comprehensively stocked mini-market just a minute's walk from my apartment, and two large supermarkets just across the main road. Near those are a full range of other shops, including two banks, a medical centre, cheap 'phone-card shop, cafes, and a Cornish-pasty shop !

We do try to be flexible with arrival and departure days, though at peak times we prefer Saturday to Satuirday bookings.
We normally ask that our guests arrive after 1500 hours, and vacate by 1000 hours on departure day. This is just to allow out hard-working cleaners to do a thorough job between. But on non-changeover days we try to be as flexible as possible.
I can quite often arrange the rental of other apartments on Dona Lola if you require additional accommodation for relatives or friends.
Discounts can be arranged for extended bookings or low-occupancy.
30% deposit on booking. Balance due 8 weeks before holiday. Payments normally by cheque, or direct bank-to-bank transfer.
