Our 2 bedroomed single storey holiday cottage is recently converted from a former farm building and provides quality accommodation for 2-4 people. We are in a perfect location for visiting the many sites on Hadrian's Wall. The use of natural wood together with carefully co-ordinated furnishings create a homely atmosphere.
Stanegate Cottage is situated above the village of Greenhead in a peaceful position just off the A69 Newcastle-Carlisle road about 18 miles east of the M6 motorway.
The living room is very well equipped with Sky Freeview TV, DVD, video and music system. On a cold day you can supplement the central heating by lighting the woodburning stove. From the French window, look out over views of Hadrian's Wall country towards the Scottish hills. The kitchen area is fitted with a gas cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The spacious hallway leads to both bedrooms and the bathroom which has a large shower cubicle, W.C. and washbasin, razor point and heated towel rail. The two bedrooms, one with king-sized double bed and the other with twin beds, are beautifully furnished with pine furniture and attractive bed linen and accessories,and both have extensive views over open countryside.
A sunny coutyard to the front and a patio with garden furniture and barbecue to the rear, provide a perfect place for quiet relaxation or maybe a barbecue on a summers evening.

Local activities in and around Greenhead, North
The cottage is an excellent base for touring Northumberland, the Scottish borders and the Lake District and many interesting towns and cities, for example, Newcastle, Durham, Hexham, Alnwick and Carlisle.
The many Roman archeological sites, including the Roman Army Museum, Housesteads and Vindolanda, where they are still uncovering fascinating treasures, are only a few miles away. The area is ideal for walkers and cyclists. The Pennine Way passes by the cottage, as does the new Hadrian's Wall Trail. For golf enthusiasts, the local golf club is on the doorstep with other coures at nearby Brampton and Hexham.
Rental Notes: Changeover day is Saturday about 3-0pm. Please vacate the following week by 10-0am
Weekend or midweek breaks are available from September to Easter .
Allprices are inclusive of bed linen, towels and heating.
A non-returnable deposit of 25% is required to confirm the booking. The balance to be paid 4 weeks before the holiday.
