Llonydd - Lovely converted stable with fabulous sea views
Cottage with 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 4, Garden
With spectacular sea views and panoramic sunsets, this area, frequented by dolphins, porpoises and seals will leave a lasting memory of Llonydd. Situated on the seabord coast of Snowdonia National Park, this is an ideal base for beach holidays, walking, sea fishing and sight seeing. For those seeking just to relax and unwind, take a walk from the patio area, along the private cliff path, to the secluded shingle beach below the house, where your only company is most likely to be herons, Oystercatchers and cormorants.
Situated between Tywyn and Dolgellau, this period stone cottage is one of a group of three cottages set in two acres of former farmland perched between the mountains of Snowdonia and the Bay of Cardigan. The properties have been completely refurbished in 2004 to a high standard.
The entrance door leads into the lounge/diner with inglenook fireplace. The lounge has a window seat overlooking the sea, with TV and home theatre system. Off the lounge, the kitchen is completely new with cream and stainless steel units. A door leads from the kitchen to a patio area with furniture. From the patio area, you can see north along the beaches of the North Wales coast to Snowdon in the distance.
Upstairs there is 1 double and one single bedroom with sea views, with an additional single bedroom to the rear. The bathroom, also recently refitted, is upstairs. Take a moment to sit by the stile on the path to the beach and wonder at the view. Directly ahead on the horizon is Bardsea Island, at the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula. Cast your eyes to the right and to the north, and follow the coast line of the Peninsula to Portmadoc where the mountains rise to the Snowdonia range. Barmouth is clearly visible, and Snowdon too. As the Gulf Stream bathes the coastline in warm air these mountains may be shrouded in mist but from the advantage of Llonydd where the mountain rise hasn’t had chance to cool the air to cloud the view is splendid.
To the left and to the south the nearby hills come sharply to the sea border but in the distance the Pembrokeshire coast juts out, completing the crescent of Cardigan Bay. A Peregrine Falcon might fly by or a school of porpoises break the surf. As the evening draws near the sun dips to the horizon across the sea and vivid colours fill the view ahead. On a warm summers evening take a stroll along the beach or build an impromptu barbeque with driftwood.
