The Coachmans Cottage - Edwardian 5* Country Holiday Home
House with 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 7, Garden
Ladyhole House is an Edwardian country house, located in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District. Set at the top of a sweeping drive lined with mature chestnut trees and covered in a carpet of daffodils in the Spring. Both the house and cottage are set in mature gardens and grounds with many beautiful trees and a walled garden.
The name Ladyhole dates back to medieval times, when a nunnery existed at the site, and was referred to as the 'ladies of the hollow'.
The Coachmans Cottage is a delightful Derbyshire cottage and is situated to the rear of the main house and has its own delightful cottage gardens. Converted from a bothy in 1995, it offers luxury accommodation. Guests are welcome to enjoy all that the gardens offer, outdoor barbecues in the summer, an 'en tout cas' tennis court and croquet. For horse owners there are stables and grazing near to the house.
The house is beautifully furnished and can sleep 6 people very comfortably. (7 with a Z bed). It consists of upstairs, 1 double or twin-bedded room (with Z bed), and adjacent bathroom, and one further twin-bedded room with shower. Downstairs is a twin-bedded room with basin and lavatory opposite. There is a Stannah stairlift to assist those with impaired mobility to get upstairs. There are also ramps for wheelchairs.
Treat yourself to a bit of luxury, with crisp white cotton linen and huge towels. All designed to make your stay extremely comfortable.
The owners are on hand to help in any way they can. Either by suggesting features of the area to visit, or providing that little extra to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible.
Leading off the hallway is a fully equipped kitchen with Rayburn, and a utility room. The sitting room has an open fire and logs and coal are provided. There is a television with DVD and CD player. French windows open out into a large conservatory, furnished with dining table and chairs, together with comfortable chairs for relaxing in. The conservatory opens into a patio area, with barbecue and garden chairs. Two cots and highchairs are available upon request.
The garden is particularly delightful, extending to 3 acres in all, to which all guests are welcome to wander. An en tout cas tennis court is for guests use, and racquets and balls are provided. Croquet can be set up for those keen to play. This combines to make any visitor feel they are experiencing life in a typical Enqglish country house.
