Chy Byghan - Stone built barn conversion with rural views
Cottage with 1 Bedroom, Sleeps 4
Just half a mile from the large golden sandy beach at Porth and even less to Whipsiderry beach on the coast road just north of Newquay, this is one of a small group of single and two storey cottages with country views. The cottage is also just a couple of mile from the rest of Newquay's surfing beaches including Fistral and Watergate Bay. Watergate Bay is also known for it's kite surfing and is the home of Jamie Oliver’s new Fifteen2 restaurant. It was also the setting for the recent ITV series Echo Beach. There's a footpath near the cottage to the bay. For those who enjoy a walk it's around a mile.

Kitchen update Oct 2006
Chy Byghan is one of a number of cottages converted from stone built barns around a central courtyard. Snuck into one corner, the double glazed front door opens into a small entrance hall with a shower room W.C. with hand basin on one side, and a double bedroom facing the inner courtyard on the opposite side. At the rear of the cottage, a door leads through to a bright living room with a natural decor and colour scheme and two windows looking across the road to fields and the countryside.
There is a seating area with a new sofa bed (with a special matress designed to be good for your back)and a kitchen/diner with a pine table and bench seats and a galley style kitchen area with light coloured fitted units. The cottage has recently been refurbished and the floors in the kitchen area and hall are laminated with new carpet laid in April 2007 elsewhere. We have installed a new washing mcahine for 2008 as well.
There's a shared car park at the rear of the group of cottages. If you want to give the car a rest then jump on a bus. There is a service that runs along the road next to the cottages during the summer months.
Porth beach offers safe bathing and is just a ten minute walk by road, as are a pub, cafes, mini market and the coastal footpath. Local hotels in the area welcome non-residents to their restaurants. Golf, horse riding and ten pin bowling are all available nearby.
The cottage has many features including a microwave, and a travel cot. Electricity and heating is inclusive. Ideal for a couple but for a value holiday it can sleep up to 4 (2+2 a double bed and a new double sofa bed).
