Ground floor apartment 25km south of Alicante airport, situated in a relaxed area of a popular seaside resort, fully equipped for families with children or for couples. Ideal for golf and beach holidays or just exploring the Vega Baja region of Alicante. Come and discover Guardamar del Segura, a delightful, typically Spanish seaside town with beautiful golden sands and areas of pine forests and sand dunes.
Within yards of a gorgeous pool, this is a well appointed two bedroom apartment with airconditioning and heating, situated just inland from Guardamar in a friendly residential area. One king-size, one twin bedroom, sleeps 4 - 5 (sofa bed in lounge). Ceiling fans are fitted in bedrooms and lounge for added comfort.
Fully equipped kitchen, lounge/diner. Patio areas front and back offering sun or shade, with table and chairs. Shared swimming pool alongside with loungers and sunshades, set within a secured area. Four beach chairs and a sunshade are provided.
The accommodation is suitable for two couples, but is also planned with families and young children in mind - we have a travel cot and bedding for babes, and a food blender for preparing their meals. There are a few children's books, DVDs and toys, even a potty and a child's toilet seat!
Just nearby you will find a minimarket, a cafe/bar and two restaurants, with some evening entertainment. Car hire is recommended for full enjoyment of the area, but two minutes walk from the apartment there is a bus stop for two local routes which give easy access to the town centre, the pine reserve and several beaches (you can taxi back from the town centre for about 5 euros). Guardamar has a bus station with direct services to most nearby towns.
La Marquesa golf course is just five minutes from the apartment and La Finca another ten minutes. The popular courses of Villamartin, Las Ramblas and El Plantio are all about 20 minutes away.

Local activities in and around Guardamar Del Segura, Costa Blanca - Alicante
From the apartment it is a five minute drive down into the centre of Guardamar, which is a lively little town with plenty of restaurants and shops, palm-fringed avenues, a huge Wednesday morning market (plus evening markets during the summer) and shady parks with children's play areas. Further two minutes to beaches which have Blue Flag awards, and a good selection of bars, cafes and shops on a pleasant promenade.
To the north of the town stretches a pine wood nature reserve, ideal for walking and picnicking on hot days, with access over the sand dunes to further stretches of sandy beaches and the sea. And beyond that, in the estuary of the River Segura is a modern marina. To the south of the town you will find more sand dunes and fine beaches.
There are miles of off-road level tracks for walking and cycling quite close to the apartment, alongside the River Segura. You can either walk into town or head out into the countryside, and you can hire bicycles from an English couple in nearby Rojales and have them delivered to the apartment. Drive to Santa Pola across the salt lakes and spot the flamingos, wander along the front to the harbour and fish market, and maybe take a day trip on a glass-bottomed boat out to the tiny island of Tabarca, the best place around for scuba diving and snorkelling.
The inland towns of Orihuela, Murcia and Elche (or Elx) are not far away, each with its own attractions - the large programmed fountains of Orihuela, Murcia's historic centre or Europe's largest palm grove in Elche, with Rio Safari nearby for the children (animals and amusement park).
There is a water park near Rojales (about twelve minutes drive) and horse riding is available in the area. Mundomar (marine animals) and Aqualandia (water world) are near Benidorm, about one hour's drive away. Use the links for more information.
