Luxury 2 bedroom apartment centrally located for all amenities in LaRosiere. Completed in spring 2003 the accommodation is finished in a traditional manner, furnished to the highest standard and has fantastic south facing views across the alps. Only 350m to the main lifts where you can enjoy snow sure skiing in LaRosiere, or ski over to La Thuile in Italy. Known as a superb family friendly ski resort, with 150km of pistes, there is also heli-skiing for the more adventuress and a new high speed lift system for winter 2004/5.
We have enjoyed many family holidays in LaRosiere and have experienced a warm and friendly welcome, with patient and helpful staff in ski schools, crèches, bars and at the lifts. Prices for everything from lift passes to food and drinks are considerably less expensive than the more fashionable resorts of the French Alps.

The accommodation is on the 2nd floor and is much larger than average at 60m2. There is a south-facing balcony where you can enjoy views across the Tarentaise Valley to Les Arcs and Val d'Isere.
The accommodation comprises of: Master bedroom with double bed, shower room, fitted wardrobes and French doors to balcony; Bedroom 2 with 2 x Bunks and additional pull out bed, fitted wardrobes; Bathroom with bath and shower over and separate WC; Living room with double sofa bed additional sofa, dinning table, Satalite TV with UK free to view channels and DVD/CD player; well designed kitchen with oven, 4 hot plates, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and everything you would expect to find in a French kitchen.
There is private basement parking and a ski locker just off the slopes (in normal conditions it is possible to ski back to the apartment).
The accommodation is professionally cleaned at every changeover and linen can be hired locally, or you can take your own.
Chambery is the nearest airport, but Geneva and Lyon are about a 3-hour drive and offer more flight options from the low cost carriers. Bus/train and private transfers are available from all airports, as is car hire, which gives the flexibility of being able to explore other ski areas.
The Snowtrain operates from Waterloo/Ashford to Bourg St Maurice and then you can bus or taxi the last 15 miles up to resort. LaRosiere is about a 9-hour drive from Calais, which makes driving a realistic option, especially from the South of England.

Local activities in and around La Rosiere, Rhone Alps
Winter activities: Skiing, snowboarding, ski de Fond, ski jump (!), heli-skiing, paragliding, childcare,fitness centre, snow shoeing.
For children of skiing age both the ESF and Evolution2 do a number of childcare options combining ski lessons with supervised lunch and non sking activities. English is widely spoken and there is a good mix of English and French children.
Please book child care and children's ski lessons early for peak season.

For pre-skiing children (under 3's) the ESF have a professionally run crèche called Club des Galopins that we have used and is very well run and equipped. It is 2 minutes walk from the apartment, prior booking is essential and English speaking is limited - but don't let this put you off. Our 2-year-old son has loved his stays there.

Hiring a car is relatively inexpensive and can provide more flexibility during your stay. This agency, along with others, can find the cheapest option available from the various hire companies at Geneva, Lyon and Chamberry.
Rental Notes: All prices include professional cleaning prior to your arrival. Changeover day is Saturday, arrive after 14:00, depart by 10:00. This is essential to ensure the apartment is properly cleaned prior to arrival. £200 deposit required to confirm booking, balance 4 weeks prior to departure.
