Set in 5 acres of woodland and pasture on our smallholding 'Pratu' at an altitude of about 300 metres/1000 feet, this cabin, accommodating four people, is ideally situated between the coast and the mountains. A perfect rural retreat for those seeking peace and calm and yet within easy reach of Corsica's many attractions.
The village of Petreto Bicchisano with its shops, bars and restaurants is a couple of minutes drive away. There are river rock pools ten minutes down the valley and the beach resorts of Porto Pollo and Propriano can be reached within half an hour, as can the Alta Rocca, south Corsica's beautiful mountainous heartland. The cabin has an official one star rating from the French Tourist Office.

The cabin is situated in its own clearing and has space to park a car outside and a barbecue area. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a pair of bunk beds. There is a small inner hall area with shelves and hanging space and off this is a combined shower, basin and WC unit.
The covered terrace has a kitchen area with sink, twin gas rings, fridge, worktop and storage cupboards and shelves and there is a table and seating. The cabin is simply equipped with all you need for a self catering holiday for up to four persons and has electric lighting and power points.

Local activities in and around Bicchisano, Corsica
Corsica is a walker's paradise with many great footpaths either going direct from our property or a short drive away. The flora and fauna is also particularly rich and varied so birdwatchers and botanists will also find plenty to see and do.
Down the valley from Pratu is the Taravo river with its rock pools leading on to the beautiful Valinco gulf with wonderful beaches at Porto Pollo, Propriano and Campomoro.
Also in the region a short drive away are opportunities to go horse riding, climbing, canyoning, mountain biking, off-road driving, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiiing and motorboating.
Other attractions in the south of Corsica include the stunning clifftop citadel of Bonifacio, the imposing town of Sartene, the A Cupulatta tortoise sanctuary with over 150 species and the intriguing prehistoric sites at Filitosa and Cucuruzzu.
Being part of France, it goes without saying that the food and wine in Corsica is particularly good and regional specialities such as ewe's milk cheese, chestnut flour, charcuterie, olive oil and local beef, lamb and pork form the basis of many restaurant menus.
Bonifacio
At the southern tip of Corsica perched above a huge natural limestone inlet is the amazing town of Bonifacio. The ancient fortifications of the Genoese citadel with its maze of cobbled streets and the stunning views of the cliffs and distant Sardinia make this one of the most memorable towns to visit in this part of the Mediterranean.

Rentals are usually from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. Cabin available from 2pm on the day of arrival and guests are asked to vacate by 10am on the day of departure but we can sometimes be flexible on this.
